sittin here with a cup of hot chocolate

it's been quite cold lately. the only way to fully warm up is either a) take a hot shower b) eat hot chocolate or c) make hot yummy soup or d) accidentally leave the heater on all night. i prefer a and b bc there's really not much effort you have to put into it and it's the least expensive (side note: casey and i never turned our heaters on last year! are we crazy or what? i seriously don't know how we survived last winter!). i walked to my deathly 8 am class this morning in 2 degree weather. 2 degrees people! yeah, too cold. if it's going to be cold it should just throw on a good foot of fresh snow, that at least makes the cold fun! i may or may not have worn leggings under my jeans, 2 pairs of socks, boots, an undershirt, a shirt, a sweater, a jacket, a scarf, gloves, and earmuffs today...like i said, i may or may have not.

i'm trying to quickly get over this little cold of mine: itchy throat and that annoying stuffy/runny nose where no matter how much you blow your nose there's still yuckies stuck up there preventing you to breather nicely. it's even worse at night: when you wake up in the middle of the night, you realize you really can't breathe, so you get up to go to the bathroom so not to wake up the significant other while blowing out your brains through that inflamed nose of yours just to have that darn nose completely unplugged and wonderful by the time you get to the bathroom. all that effort for nothing. then as soon as you lie in bed the stuffiness comes back. touche nose. touche. luckily that was yesterday, today is much better :)

i now have 4 plants in my house. 4! i feel very green :) we get lots of free ones from this class i'm in and it's a nice change to have around. i can now unwillingly tell you the correct genus, species, cultivar, and common name of each of these plants. beyond these 4 plants in my house. i can also tell you the family, genus, species, cultivar, and sometimes variety of probably about 250 other plants. it's getting to the point of ridiculous if i do say so myself.

the rest of life is just dandy right now.
