in the kitchen and behind the camera

so with this new camera came a little video to watch to learn how to use it better
i watched immediately and learned lots!
so i asked casey if he'd watch it too, he agreed quickly knowing it'd make us both happy!
turns out he's quite the little photographer when someone will teach ha!
while he watched the video i was making crepes :)

i like to sick my tummy out when i cook apparently :)
nutella is magical.
crepes for breakfast are great.
but crepes just because with nutella and bananas are even better!

one year older

now i am 20!
yay!
my SIL told me i'm in limbo-land when it comes to my age:
not a teenager anymore but not officially and adult!
i think that means i have no predicaments i must follow eh!?
it was a low key celebration but that's ok :)
and let's just say it wasn't the best day at work, ha oh well
what we did do, made my birthday very special!

really awesome wrapping on my presents!
got a fancy new camera, a temple bag, and Cutler engraved in my scriptures!
my mom sent a cute package that made me just so excited! i wanted to open it the moment i got it! so hard to wait! also a card came from my sweet dad (he's too cute and insisted that he still had to do something for my b-day himself) and my aunt and uncle. real mail really makes me so happy!
saw toy story together on wed. it was cute :) i didn't get to enjoy it to its fullest bc i was still taking phone calls during the movie ha (see that clipboard? that thing is attached to my body this summer as if it's treasure, gosh!)
we used a match for my candle :)

also we got to go swimming this week! casey was close enough to come home for lunch on friday and we had enough motivation with the weather to go swimming! it felt so good to get in that water! we brought cantaloupe out with us too :)

all the phone calls i got were very special so thank you if you called (or left a fb/blog message)!
casey's fam made me this really awesome birthday video too! funniest thing ever!

Dearest Kimber....

Romeo, Romeo where for art thou Romeo, comes from the Shakesperian play Romeo and Juliet, and where it comes into my life is the fact that before finding Kimber in my life I felt much like Juliet in searching for the love of my life, and gladfully our story does not end in tragedy. Our story will continue to be more like Cinderella and her Prince and they lived Happily Ever After..... Kimber has turned 20 this morning and  it would not be complete until I updated the blog and tell her what a great wife she is. She is a motivator and example of  hard work to me including a spiritual giant. I love KIMBERLY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE! You are not a teenager anymore now you have become in the old phase of life hehe. I hope you have a wonderful day with all of your gifts and surprises. Love you so much I hope you wake up to this  wonderful note unexpectedly. Muah!
This is what you have to look forward to love Wrinkles and double chins haha!

the most important things at the grocery store

late saturday night on the way home from the rodeo the following converstation was held at about 11:00 pm in the car:

casey: we need to go grocery shopping
kimber: tonight? i'll just go monday when i have a grocery list
casey: but we don't have any food
kimber: what don't we have?
casey: cereal, ice cream, chocolate covered gummy bears, food
in that order

on another note, i don't know what we'd do without our gps
it saves our lives.
especially here in roseville, ca where the roads are wacko.
most the times we like it (her).
many times we passionately dislike it (her).
it's a her because that's the voice, either an annoying american voice of british :)
currently it's british.
sometimes we call her the gps wench .
mainly when it leads us some dumb way and we follow its directions instead of going where we know is better is when we passionately dislike her
the following conversation was held in the car one day:

kimber: why are we going this way?
casey: i don't know, the gps is dumb
kimber: i wish our gps took us the most direct route
casey: i wish our gps took us the practical  route

i thought it was funny

note the only options the gps has "fastest time", "least distance", "surface roads only" and other silly ones that i swear no one would ever use.

to the rodeo we go!

we went.
and we conquered.

oh the rodeooww
(draw out the o and add a w like a real cowboy:)
it was another something fun that we wanted to do this summer here in cali!
like all other rodeos, we stared into the sun for what seemed like forever
sunglasses were utterly necessary,
casey's hat was used to no end
and our tickets were used as my hat :)
our bums kinda hurt from the cement "chairs" we paid oodles of money for :)
more like cement bleachers ha- our backs kinda hurt too by the end but it's ok
also, this awesome sky diver came in with the flag
it was so cool! the place flew right over the rodeo grounds and we saw him jump out of the plane!
the whole time i was like "casey! we gotta do that this year!!"
some funny parts of the rodeo included
-the rodeo clown of course
-a cute little dog who chased the bulls into the gate they were supposed to go through- that dog was fearless! running around all those huge horses and bulls! goodness!
-one incredibly stubborn horse! funniest thing ever would not go in that gate! ha! 2 other men with horses and the dog could not coax that horse to move- pushing, shoving, pulling, nothing! that horse started sitting down practically! the whole audience was laughing
-one poor rider was doing the bronco riding and for some reason the horse tripped or something and fell then rolled over the rider and would not get off him for a few seconds!!! i imagine that heavy horse did not feel so good
-the muttin' bustin' is always a hoot (the little kids holding onto sheeps)
-also the steer wrestling (you know where the small bull and cowboy run out of the gates at the same time and the cowboy jumps of the horse onto the bull {that part is CRAZY!} and wrestles the bull to the ground by his horns, yeah, you know?) well this one bull would not go down! instead he stood over the cowboy- completely stood over him and would not budge! again so funny!
-they had a reenactment of stage coach riding and had a race between 2 of the arena, let me tell you it was epic! but half way through the race one of the back axles fell off the stage coach! but he kept going! incredible!

the bad parts of the rodoe included
-our concrete chairs
-unlike a utah rodeo- much alcohol was consumed around us
-the rodeo made a rule of "no pictures" (so dumb!) so we had to sneak the ones we did get and feel like criminals at a stinkin rodeo for crying out loud
-the cowboys were babies and fell off the bulls and horses fast- again utah rodeos = better and tougher

but in the end, we still had a blast
rodeo riders and fun events
and there were fireworks at the end!

it was a grand way to celebrate america and our independence a good ol' american way
crazy yankees doing crazy american things
you'll never find crazy rodeos like this anywhere else but in america- it's so fun!
wealso loved hearing a live, beautiful version of the star spangled banner
so perfect to hear that the day before our independence day, july 4th!

happy independence day!
hopefully we'll get to catch some fireworks tonight just standing around!

do not walk, RUN!

did you know i love love love old navy!?!?!
yes i do.
because i really think it has the best sales ever!!!
like today!
$1 flip flops!
they had this last month but this month you have to have the facebook coupon
which means there's going to be a lot less of a crowd there bc people are lazy and don't print them out :)
so go! hurry! sat july 3 only! wow do i sound like a chessy advertisement or what?
i'm going to go right NOW!
i was finally able to pring mine off, just print the whole page
i just love old navy flip flops
i liked last years style A LOT, i'll have to see about this year's style
casey's feet doesn't like flip flops but i'm going to get him some anyways :)
and then he'll probably return them bc he doens't like plastic flip flops

thanks nicole for seeing it!

did i tell you?

we saw it
and just as said so many months ago, we went to the midnight opening!
in fact we went to the 1 o'clock am opening slightly against our will
even though i really didn't want to go to midnight opening,
we really liked it and we had lots of fun together!!!!
casey reminded me that when we were dating we wouldn't have second guessed going to any midnight opening so we should try to stay as fun and wild and "young" as long as possible :)
haha i love him.
of course books are always better than movies, and you must expect not so good acting for that movie but casey really liked the fight scene and i liked all the cheesy lines i remember from the books
oh goodness...twilight saga!

but we didn't get the HP preveiw in ours!!!!
whhhhhaaaaa!?!?!?!?! HOLD THE PHONE!
yeah i know!
but we watched it the following day online.
doesn't it look epic!
we will stay "young" and go to those 2 midnight openings as well!!!!
SO EXCITED for it!

as another friend of mine mentioned, i am so proud to be apart of the HP generation!
i remember waiting what seemed like forever to have the 4th and 7th books come out!
those midnight openeings were so fun!
not knowing what was going to happen to harry,
like so many others, those books inspired me to love to read
plus i was pretty much the same age as harry when i read each book,
i thought that was soo kewwwl :)

and with twilight too,
i remember being so excited for that 4th book to come out,
not knowing what was going to happen,
sigh, i hope there are some more amazing series that will come out that'll be epic too

well that's that here folks!
we're going to a rodeo saturady night to colebrate the 4th!
i absolutely love the 4th of july :)
a summer holiday
watermelon
red
white
blue
sunscreen
swimming
bbq
decorations

i just love it
adios!!!
