she went to the temple and then she got married

this last weekend was our last in Roseville, CA!
it's a bittersweet time :)

ha, but for our last weekend of funnes in CA we were able to go to a close friend of mines wedding reception!
dearest andy seibert balsteadt!
she was andy the lifeguard at AG last summer
and now she's mrs. andy the wife!
we figured out her reception was only like a 2 hour drive so we decided to boogie on up!
so glad we got the chance!
it was fun to experience that part of cali,
a rural-country-hick-town part of cali :)
talk about the country!
ha! but it was a beautiful drive, a cute town (sonora), and a beautiful wedding day for her!
i'm so incredibly excited for her and glad to have another one of my friends joining the married club!

they're off to kuai! lucky gooses! i know they'll love all aspects of this weeks ;)

Sacajawea Jump!

well they did it!
they did the sacajawea jump for an incentive this summer and it was a hoot!
for those not accustomed to summer sales programs- the management does "incentives" all summer long (daily, weekly, monthly etc) to get the guys excited and motivated to sell. we had a bunch during the month of July, one of which was if the office services their best month they got to do Sacajawea Jump! the Sacajawea Jump is where they put a whole lot of quarters and Sacajawea coins in a pool and then, in utter chaos, everyone jumps in to get as much money as they can! pretty savage and funny :) in total this year the pool held $500 in quarters and $200 in Sacajawea coins! cerrrazy!

I was casey's number 1 fan on the edge of the pool (of course!:) and it was fun to watch him and be there, I had heard about it before but never gotten to see it!

look really close! you can start to see the plethora of coins in the pool!
you would not believe how many coins it really is! the search went on forever! it did not help that it was a night time and there was like a 7 feet deep end! the deep end was where all the Sacajawea coins were so that's where casey went the whole time- that savage! ha!
 some of the savages
casey was like a little kid on christmas day getting to finally get home and count it all!!

good news! work is ending a week earlier than we planned! YESSSSS!!!! (imagine that being said with the most enthusiasm ever, raising your arms in the air, head tilted back and screaming for joy!) can you tell we're excited?

so worth the pain

i absolutely love boating and any lake acitivity SOOO much!
on saturday we took the day off and went with our summer cali-family to the lake and it was a BLAST!
casey wakeboarded for the first time and did superb!
he practically got up all the way, but he had the wrong board on so it was super hard, next time he'll be a pro.
as for me, it'd been almost 2 years but remembered semi-quickly and had a blast!
along with wakeboarding we had to do some awesome tubing!
and awesome it was! this is where our main thrashing came from but we loved it!
2 tubes=so much fun for ages 2-parent :)
tubing also means tears at times but we all have to learn at some point!
the hunt's are such a fun family! we have been so blessed to become their friends this summer! their kids are adorable! and the parents are exactly how casey and i want to be when we're parents! we just love them all to death!! they've truly become our family away from home!
but we sadly enough didn't bring our camera! and neither did they! how dumb are we!?!? all day long i was like "that'd be such a great picture!" but there were some phone pictures taken so once i get ahold of those i will share :)

but of course since we were in the sun (having fun) for hours on end we made a new best friend that night and for all the following days:
yes, we got burnt not as horrible as it could be but still a burn.
even worse than being burnt:
our bodies are thrashed!
when i touch a part of my body i can't tell if it hurts bc it's sunburnt or the muscles are just so sore!
ha!
by far, our funnest saturday of the summer. we would take a beating on our body any day to have that much fun again with them! ha, so worth it!!!

for this last weekend we went and visited my aunt and uncle in atascadero!
it's a beautiful town 20 min away from the bay/beach by a town called san luis obispo!
along with being beautiful the weather is near perfect!
we had a great time visiting them, playing with their cute dog, visiting morro bay, eating the yummiest clam chowder ever and just having fun!
we don't get to see them often so we were very happy for the chance!
the 4 of us with their famous morro bay rock!!
don't you just LOVE uncle john's face!!!! that's his smiling/squinting face :)
a free willy reenactment for ya

 yummiest clam chowder EVER
then the long, dreaded car ride with the sun in my eyes the WHOLE time, yuck

other than the sun we loved our whole little excursion!

to the rodeo we go!

we went.
and we conquered.

oh the rodeooww
(draw out the o and add a w like a real cowboy:)
it was another something fun that we wanted to do this summer here in cali!
like all other rodeos, we stared into the sun for what seemed like forever
sunglasses were utterly necessary,
casey's hat was used to no end
and our tickets were used as my hat :)
our bums kinda hurt from the cement "chairs" we paid oodles of money for :)
more like cement bleachers ha- our backs kinda hurt too by the end but it's ok
also, this awesome sky diver came in with the flag
it was so cool! the place flew right over the rodeo grounds and we saw him jump out of the plane!
the whole time i was like "casey! we gotta do that this year!!"
some funny parts of the rodeo included
-the rodeo clown of course
-a cute little dog who chased the bulls into the gate they were supposed to go through- that dog was fearless! running around all those huge horses and bulls! goodness!
-one incredibly stubborn horse! funniest thing ever would not go in that gate! ha! 2 other men with horses and the dog could not coax that horse to move- pushing, shoving, pulling, nothing! that horse started sitting down practically! the whole audience was laughing
-one poor rider was doing the bronco riding and for some reason the horse tripped or something and fell then rolled over the rider and would not get off him for a few seconds!!! i imagine that heavy horse did not feel so good
-the muttin' bustin' is always a hoot (the little kids holding onto sheeps)
-also the steer wrestling (you know where the small bull and cowboy run out of the gates at the same time and the cowboy jumps of the horse onto the bull {that part is CRAZY!} and wrestles the bull to the ground by his horns, yeah, you know?) well this one bull would not go down! instead he stood over the cowboy- completely stood over him and would not budge! again so funny!
-they had a reenactment of stage coach riding and had a race between 2 of the arena, let me tell you it was epic! but half way through the race one of the back axles fell off the stage coach! but he kept going! incredible!

the bad parts of the rodoe included
-our concrete chairs
-unlike a utah rodeo- much alcohol was consumed around us
-the rodeo made a rule of "no pictures" (so dumb!) so we had to sneak the ones we did get and feel like criminals at a stinkin rodeo for crying out loud
-the cowboys were babies and fell off the bulls and horses fast- again utah rodeos = better and tougher

but in the end, we still had a blast
rodeo riders and fun events
and there were fireworks at the end!

it was a grand way to celebrate america and our independence a good ol' american way
crazy yankees doing crazy american things
you'll never find crazy rodeos like this anywhere else but in america- it's so fun!
wealso loved hearing a live, beautiful version of the star spangled banner
so perfect to hear that the day before our independence day, july 4th!

happy independence day!
hopefully we'll get to catch some fireworks tonight just standing around!
