kirky got married

for the actual wedding day,
i'm stupid and pretty much took no pictures of whitney and kirk.
it was just annoying to have my camera on me and i didn't want to ask them to keep posing.
i'm crossing my fingers i'll get a hold of some beautiful ones from their photographer!

but whitney was completely gorgeous.
and kirk looked so happy all day long.
we loved every bit of the day.
and it was the most gorgeous day of weather ever.
i felt like we were waiting outside the temple forever for them to come out so i did take out my camera and snapped a few of the little ones.
they were so cute all day long.

after the temple kirk and whitney wanted IN-N-OUT for their first newlywed meal.
so we followed them to take pictures.
it was so cute watching them go in there.
everyone was just staring at them, it was darling.
and the man behind them kindly and graciously paid for their lunch!

we went back to the house for a bit,
visited with grandparents and aunts and uncles.
that's the best part about weddings: getting to be together as a family.
it truly was splendid.
we then went over to the pre-reception dinner and had the most wonderful bbq dinner.
whitney's parents actual have a side-bbqing business and boy was it incredible.
we seriously loved every bite!!
Photobucket
as the sun went down the little ones found the playset area.
the playset area had gorgeous  sun setting behind it so i snapped a few more pictures.

like casey mentioned a few days ago,
they had mini cupcakes that we GORGED ourselves on,
seriosuly, i'm embarrassed how many i ate, they were just so good!!

kirk and whitney had a spectacular came smash,
that's the only way to do it people,
SMASH THE CAKE!
they were so cute!

the 4 married siblings with a few of the in-laws went and decorated the car
(go mom for being prepared and actually bringing stuff...)
all i can say is that we had quite a bit of fun with it.
fdeciding what the windows would say was the funniest thing ever
luckily our father did not have time to read everything window :)
points to be remembered:
1. as scott was writing "yay, kirk's not gay"
casey said, "gay has a silent h in it, scott"
scott now questioned his spelling
(spelling is not scott's best subject:)
2. weston wrote grom, not groom.
3. logan wrote beb not bed.

sparklers were lit and the two were whisked away in style in the Just Married car!
such a wonderful evening!
Photobucket

we were talking all night how this was the LAST woodruff wedding.
how crazy is that!?
the next wedding in the family will be a niece or nephew!
but we do have many cousin weddings to look forward to.
cough cough holman girls cough cough
crazy enough us siblings are 9 years apart and got married within 8 years.
I helped lots with those numbers.

happy wedding day to kirk and whitney!
3.10.12
and happy anniversary to scott and megan!
3.10.07

PS- you absolutely MUST hope over to my SIL's little fabric blog!
firsty, she's an amazingly talented sewer.
secondly, she has a giveaway going for bundles of BEAUTIFUL fabric!
i think i'd pee my pants if i got my hands on that fabric...

ruthie's newborn pictures

we are officially back from arizona.
we originally had planned on driving back sunday but on saturday night talked about how we wanted to stay just one more day.
we weren't set on it but the longer we stayed on sunday, we just decided to stay another night.
i just love arizona.
waking up friday morning was like a dream vacation:
bright light shining through the window,
breeze blowing in through the window with a 70 degree breeze...
so perfect.
the whole wedding was so wonderful and so beautiful!
we are so happy for them.
i'll share wedding pictures soon.
but first...

we spent much of our time on friday taking pictures of new little ruthie!
this was my first time i've gotten to photograph a newborn and it was so fun!
i'm so happy blair had confidence in me, ha, and i'm glad blair was there to help me with that little sweetie.
so here goes a few of my favorites from little ruth lova woodruff.

definitely learned a ton about photographing newborns.
i read a bunch of tips on the internet to help me, and they really did.
one thing i did not read about:
how to control an almost 2 and 4 year old during pictures.
ha, what a joke! if casey hadn't been there it wouldn't have happened, seriously,
he's a miracle worker when it comes to getting kids to look at the camera.
blair held the light reflector which improved the photos a billions times.

ruth is a cutie and so small and precious!
i was wondering all weekend what kind of girl she'll be.
looking back and the other 4 neices/nephews it's funny thinking about their baby personalities and looks and characteristics and seeing what they are now.
i'm so excited for all these kids to grow up,
and one day get to experience this with my own little babes!

next up: some wedding day pictures!

Casey Post #10 Mini Cupcakes!!

So I have enjoyed a little wedding down in Arizona this weekend, and I think the best thing I liked about the weekend food was these little, tiny cupcakes. So I kind of ate a lot of them and than I totally took a box of them home and they are so nice because they are all little bite-size so you can just keep plopping them in your mouth. They are so Tasty! I have become quite fond of the yellow, lemon flavored ones. They are so delightful!

So I totally love mini cupcakes because they don't make you feel so bad about eating a few here and there. Weddings are wonderful, but they are even better when little cupcakes are around. If you are having a wedding here soon please please provide little mini cupcakes because they will be the life of the food show.

it's friday.

i don't care how annoying everyone thinks rebecca black's friday song is,
I FREAKING LOVE IT.
haha, love it because, yes! it is friday and that makes me so happy!!!
don't i look so awesome in this photo?
after looking at my blog, my friend, katie, told me i'm very photogenic.
it's a lie.
because i just don't post the unphotogenic pictures of myself...like the following :)
Photobucket
we're in arizona right now
catching up on sleep from driving through the night to AZ.
playing with nieces and nephews
watching the brother kirky marry the love of his life
basking in the sun

happy friday all!

other things that have nothing to do with being happy in arizona or being happy at all, really:

neightbors that NEVER park their car in the lines!
we about flip a lid EVERY TIME we drive up.
it makes us SO crazy!
we want to key their car.
although we have decided we shouldn't be so mad about it because it just really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
so i'm happy to say we are being more adult about the situation...
this is pictures is one of his better parking jobs, i'll admit.
but come on idaho!!!!
park in the lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Photobucket

to end on a happy note,
we played fruit ninja on the Kinnect last weekend.
can anyone say AWESOME!
mission friends are so fun.

last weekend.

our last 5 days:

monday was the most beautiful day in utah.
march 5 (miss camille's birthday) had temperatures above 60!
SIXTY people!
that's only 10 degrees less than what arizona's got going on.
wowza.
on sunday you could tell there was a wee change in the weather when you drive past the colony and their were an absurd amount of scantily clad women (and men) sun bathing.
oh provo singles...

sunday was indeed festivous for us.
1. stake conference in the de jong conference hall at BYU.
a beautiful meeting.
as we stood up to sing the intermediate hymn (for a break to awaken the sleepyheads),
i was in tears.
for you see, we had quite a few couples in front of us, mostly people with no kids.
everyone had a spouse.
everyone was hand-in-hand or arms around one another.
and as we sang the spirit of god, i couldn't help but think
"this is what it's going to be like in heaven, i hope. happily hand-in-hand with the one you love."
it truly was beautiful.
2. went to grandpa and fran christensen's home for their setting apart as missionaries for the church!
they officially began their mission monday!
they will be in the provo MTC for 2 weeks, and then off to Equador to serve the Lord as temple workers.
they are such a wonderful team and will do so well down there.
if only we could visit...
3. jumped over to a cousin's house for a quick visit.
and it just so happened that that bunch of siblings/cousins (mayers) were all there together!
we got 3 for the price of 1!
4. lastly, went to a friend's house for games and chatting with the kimballs, hibberts, and gustafsons.
it's just so great to have so many other friends who are married with no kids like us.
we can just talk and talk.
i'm really going to miss these people
5. back to the grandparents,
grandma fran is known for GAMES.
she is a gameaholic.
she's also a rule natzi but we don't hold that against her :)
seriously.
she puts my enthusiasm for games to shame.
we love her so much.
last weekend we played rummikub
(if anyone EVER comes across a decent priced 6 player set of rummikub BUY IT FOR ME, they do exist but are rare and more expensive)
Photobucket
Photobucket

grandpa is also super sweet when he plays with emma.
emma adores him.
emma is so cute.
her "hi" is just the funniest thing
Photobucket
Photobucket

did i mention last weekend at the setting apart that it was just 8 of the grandkids in their 20's there to be with them.
the young to send off the old.
it was so special
(in reality, becca, fran's daughter was there too, but she's so young and lively i'm categorizing her with us)

6. also last weekend we went to IKEA.
we bought cinnamon rolls before we began walking around so casey would have a better time while walking through that maze.
totally worked.
we found a few items that are closer to the top of our list than the bottom for the future.
randomly when we got home we had a little fun with the camera,
realizing we were both actually dressed upish at the same time on a saturday,
woah, i know

manners.

excuse me if this post is too personal/offends you but i think it's hilarious and just can't forget about it.

casey
+
confined in someone else's home for 2 hours plus
=
the second the door shuts behind us to begin walking home, there's about a 30-45 second (or so it seems) blowhorn that comes out of him.

this is the only time in our marriage that i completely belly laugh at his not-so gentleman-like sounds.

i die laughing.
and he's dying from pain of holding it in.

everytime.
everytime.

but i am grateful for his manners in someone else's home. grandma christensen and mom cutler have taught him well.

casey post #9 Best Snow on Earth

Photobucket
It snowed 3 days this week! Thursday night it snowed a few inches in the mountains, and skiing on Friday was the best this season and maybe the best I have ever skied on. Or I might have not had the best snow this season so when there was actually awesome snow everywhere it was just heaven. I loved the powder and even though I fell a little more than usual it was so much fun to fall in fresh, powdery snow.
Photobucket
Kimber liked it too, but not as much as I probably because it was impossible to see sometimes going down because it was still storming/snowing at the top of the back mountain. It was crazy! We are glad to enjoy this last winter here in Provo with the mountains and season passes for skiing/snowboarding. Having Season passes to ski is probably one of the best investments for our happiness in the wintertime over our college career at BYU.

We are happy to go to Arizona this upcoming weekend to celebrate Kirk and Whitney's Wedding! Of course I will buy some snow from a little place called Bahama Bucks because it is the best place to eat a snow cone!!! We are excited to see family and be in a more warmer climate for a weekend so that will be so much fun!! Congrats to Kirk and Whitney it will be exciting to see you guys in white!

tv shows- gotta hate em, gotta love em

confession:
this year, i have a lot of shows i keep atop of.
i'm not ashamed.
i waste none of my time, bc i watch them while i work.
i'd be doing nothing anyways!
thank you hulu..

Once Upon a Time.

um, hello, isn't everybody watching it?
it's pretty much the best show to hit abc in a long time.
there's a group of girls in the ward that get together every wednesday and we watch it together.
and have the best time, too.
instead of book club, it's show club!
ha, we get together, talk about last week's show,
what could be this week's show,
share with one another our bright insights,
gasp over the show,
talk about the show,
and guess what's gonna happen!
i look forward to every wednesday night now!
so there's like 45 minutes of the show, and like an hour added girl time,
it's simply my favorite.

The Office.

we still think it's crazy hilarious.
we gone keep watching it, thank you very much.

Modern Family.

why have i not heard about this show earlier.
i'm dying over it!
so in love, and so funny!!!!

Up All Night

I aint no parent,
but i believe this show to be somewhat true to the ups and downs of parenthood.
rock paper scissoring over diaper changes?
definitely laugh out loud on those.

Biggest Loser

this season is way better than last
casey gives excellent negative commentary the whole time,
it's as if we're watching a sports game or something
(i can only imagine what he'd be like during bachelor, ha!)
we still love it.
and we love some of the players.

Downton Abbey

k, i've only started watching it this week,
but i will undoubtedly be watching the rest of the season.
WWI rich aristocrats with war and gossip and life?
yes please!
thank you PBS/BBC with supplying me the episodes...

so...
am i the only crazy one who watches these shows?
do you any of you guys love/ hate any of them?

and no, i'm sorry, i don't watch bachelor anymore,
too much of the same thing every season for me...
