the cold: awesome and awful

10 things that make living in the cold awesome.
 photo IMG_8635_zps4d6e1cef.jpg
  1. sometimes you get to wake up to this surprise wonderland of white out your window from a whole night of snowing. it is the most magical feeling.
  2. layering clothes can be super cute. sweaters on babies at church. scarves on sweaters. wool socks coming out the tops of boots.
  3. when your breath makes that white "smoke" when it's cold outside, it entertains your children.
  4. you can stay inside all day cozied up in your pajamas under blankets and in slippers and no one looks at you like you're lazy
  5. electric blankets help make your bed ultra hot so when you finally jump into bed it's like getting into a bed that just came fresh out of the drier, and continues to stay warm!
  6. along that note, when cuddling with your spouse the excuse never comes up that "you're too hot" so cuddle on my friends!
  7. cold winters mean you get to experience the maximum beauty of spring and fall
  8. when it does snow you can go sledding, build snowmen, throw snowballs, walk around in the magical whiteness etc. playing around in that original snowfall is just so fun
  9. there's a chance of getting snow days which means free day off school!
  10. hot chocolate and hot showers truly do their job of warming up your body and you appreciate it so much more.
10 things that make living in the cold awful.
 photo IMG_7646_zpsc3177706.jpg
  1. playing outside lasts 2 minutes and then your nose is numb and it's only kind of fun
  2. playing outside for 2 minutes involves 20 minutes of getting ready to do so
  3. when you run out to your car to grab something or next door to your neighbor's house (who you literally share a wall with) with no shoes on or a coat because it really doesn't take that long, your feet have begun forming frostbite and and your body is cold to the bone.
  4. sometimes it feels like theres no where to play except in your house for the umpteenth day in a row
  5. life is more expensive in the winter, i.e.: the price of winter clothes and the quantity of layers your must wear, washing more clothes because of all the layers, a higher electricity/gas bill, etc…
  6. when you bring milk in from the car your hands have turned to blocks of ice
  7. car seat straps are much harder to put on children that are marshmallowed up with huge coats
  8. after a few days that pretty white snow turns into yucky black/brown snow on the roads
  9. driving is more stressful because there's always the potential for ice on the ground
  10. being trapped inside for 6 months, did i already mention this?

a list of 10

1. CASEY PASSED HIS BIG DENTAL EXAM LAST MONTH! it's kinda a big deal so it deserved all caps. i never properly mentioned that big bit of happiness on the blog when it happened, but he did. so proud of that husband, hello year 2 of dental school!

2. the past couple weeks maxson waves hi and goodbye when asked to, now i'm eager whenever we get to and leave events/gatherings just so i can get him to do it. it's so precious. high fives (technically low fives) and kisses are also received when asked, can't believe he's learning the actions that goes along to words!

3. when we got back from our trip casey's bike was stolen. it was so so so sad. a) it was his mission bike b) it had the hitch to the bike trailer we own is on it. i hope whoever stole it really really REALLY needed it and is putting it to good use because we sure are sad (kimber's mad, let's be honest here) about the whole situation

4. it's so fun to be back with friends. we love our all our friends on our street and in our ward, we're so richly blessed here.

5. getting home from our trip meant all maxson's toys are so cool, and new, and interesting again! i love it as does maxson!

and now the weekend:

6. we had the most wonderful night with dental friends last weekend, the most delicious shish kabobs with sweet corn and potato salad, fruity pebble treats, a 15 min watching of the beloved movie spirit, and a hilarious game of buzzword. notes on the game: casey's math skills of keeping track of points in his head are sometimes a little off compared to mine, audrey was the most wonderful reader ever, her baseball sign language in favor of the girls team was at its peak, according to her husband. turtle sampling does not mean you go sample turtles to eat. if tall women want to get married, they shouldn't wear tall heels, according to a tall woman's father that is :) maxson is still pro at balancing on casey's hand,.

7. we played softball from 8-5 on saturday and i am all soft balled out for the year. more on that later!

8. it was a year ago this time that i began meeting all of my now nebraska friends. and from what i learned after reminiscing of our first memories of meeting each other my bright red and pink lipstick is not the best of first impressions i guess? ha, that never crossed my mind.

9. we sure are wondering if maxson is pushing some teeth through because BOY was he crabby and whiney today! and that snotty nose? came out of nowhere and ran all day long, come on little teethers!

10. church was great, as always today. new friends came with us, maxson was quite the wiggle worm during sacrament meeting but friends all around made for easier entertainment, i helped teach the CTR 5 class, maxson and our neighbor's little girl that's about the same age chatted non stop during the 3rd hour together, wish i had been around to see it.

and that's my 10!

a list of awesome things

here's the cold hard truth:
life has been super wonderful and fun lately.
reasons why.
 photo IMG_0759_zpsfc012cfb.jpg

1. MAXSON IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!and when i say maxson is sleeping through the night i mean 10-11 hour stretches meaning i'm sleeping through the night too, hallelujah! all this crawling and pulling himself up on everything all day long business is wearing him out good. he's sleeping all night long and nearly always takes long naps during the day, i think we're turning a new leaf over here!

2. casey finished his last class/final of his first year of dental school, hip hip hooray! now he's got boards to take in a couple weeks and the first and hardest year of dental school will be behind us!

3. maxson figured out the pincer grasp last weekend (thumb and pointer finger to pick things up) and has been trying to pick up those baby puffs all the time. he used to gag hard core when i'd put them in his mouth, but he doesn't mind putting them in his mouth himself, so fun learning new things!

4. i've also discovered other things he's learned that i didn't realize i teach him: 1) if he's crawling around looking for me he goes to the kitchen first 2) he's learned if he wants more food while i'm feeding him to leave his mouth open and look to me/the spoon. seems like a strange thing to realize he's "learned" but he really did have to learn it!

5. i took a "facebook fast" for a week and am so much happier for it. i realized i was getting on it like a jillion times a day just to see what was new and it was wasting my time. i deleted it off my phone and didn't get on it on my computer for a week. during that week i got way more projects done that i'd had the past few months (pillow covers, stenciled shirts, organizing clothes/rooms, better meals). it was such a wonderful week! i still do get on facebook now i just don't feel so compelled to do it all the time. so friends, do a facebook fast, seriously, it's well worth your time

6. but before you do your facebook fast, get on there and go like my photography page! i've been wanting to "officially" set up a photo blog/business/fb page for awhile now but always felt so inadequate. there will always be people better than me but i too have something to offer! something in me just decided to finally suck it up and do it and i'm so happy! going through all my old photo shoots helped me remember how much i really DO love taking pictures. and the more photos sessions i get to do for others the better i'm going to get for future ones! it's so fun how they turn out and seeing the happy people in front of my lens. i'm hoping to do a bunch of fun sessions this fall so let me know if you want to schedule ;) the blog page is here: kcutlerphoto.blogspot.com

7. i finished listening to a fun book called the chase by clive cushier. quite the fun historical fiction mystery read if i do say so myself

8. i've been diligent at working out again the past few weeks during the first time period that maxson is awake and i'm feeling great! that feeling of being sore and tired and pushing your body to the max feels great.

9. i'm more than halfway through the book of mormon! the last 2 weeks i've been more than pitiful at reading everyday and have let other things get in the way and i truly have been missing out. tell me, are you reading it too? if so where you at???

here's to a great week!

some highs and lows of last week

BIGGEST HIGH:
casey felt the baby kick!!!!!!
after days of hoping to get him to feel something he finally did!
i almost broke his thumb trying to get his hand over to feel in the process.
luckily i did because almost immediately there was one and only one really big kick that he felt!
ha, so fun.
what a game trying to get casey to feel the baby kick at this stage with the combination of the kicks not really being that big and kicking being so sporadic at times.
oddly enough, the really big kicking happened when casey started reading his portion of our book together out loud, that'll be fun to remember :)

BIGGEST LOW:
the dishes were horrendous last week.
they were literally mountain high every night.
it's probably due to me actually making some kind of real yummy food everyday/night.
i hate dishes.
i hate having no dishwasher.
i hate the thought that we will have no dishwasher the next 4 years of our lives...

high:
the baby has suddenly made his presence known all week long with all this kicking.
it's really quite fun :)

low:
more on dishes,
muffin pans are 100% the worst thing to clean by hand.
they're just terrible.

high:
video chatting with family.

low:
my back hurts

high:
getting my first gel manicure.
those puppies rock.

low:
going to the bathroom all the time

high:
july is going by so fast,
 it is half way over!
wahoo with five million exclamation points.
doing summer sales is the only time i want the summers to go fast and hurry up and be over.
i know 100% this will be the last time i'm excited for summer to end.
but we are SO EXCITED for nebraska and to get outta new jersey.

low:
after 2 games of bowling last weekend we were both totally sore and tired...
so much for that bowling class, ha

high:
casey signed up for his first semester of dental school classes.
how fun is that?

i can't think of another low so my last high:
looking around at different, cute shops in the mall at their baby boy clothes is the funnest thing ever.
every 3 seconds, we were those annoying customers and would gasp and say in a high pitched voice "look how cute this is!!!"
even casey thinks they're all cute and it gets us more and more excited!
it was all we could do to not buy tons of crazy cute baby boy clothes.
it'll be so fun to start buying stuff in NE for this baby.

more pictures later this week!

7 points of our life lately that i want to remember, the good, bad and ugly

i'm still too lazy to go through our pictures and do a hawaii post,
it will come later.

for now, random things lately.

1. the fireflies are out and beautiful!
they are so magical and wonderful i can't think of anything i like more about NJ

2. speaking of NJ, i officially am done with it.
ha, we came home from our trip and after 2 days i said out loud "i hate this place."
ha, i know pitiful me, but it's true!
mostly just because of the bugs i've been finding lately... ha
i'm just not a fan of the area.
i cannot wait to get ourselves back to the west.
nebraska can't come soon enough!!!!!
enough with my complaining, it has actually treated us really well and i should be more grateful for it.
i'm grateful for the experience and grateful i'm not here the next 4 years :)

3. i finished reading stephanie nielson's heaven is here, it was wonderful.
do read it when you have the chance.
other books of lately the ivy chronicles by karen quinn, very funny and completely crazy.
a book about THE CRAZY RICH people who live in NY and what they'd do to get their 4/5 year old in a good private school, ha, what a joke!!!!!!!
and bloom, by kelle hampton, do you read her blog?
well it was a beautifully written book and so inspiring to love.
next up: these is my words...

4. got an email from shake shack thanking me for my blog post!
what that's, twice in 2 months!
maybe i should keep blogging about places i eat at and they'll find my blog and give me more freebies!!!!!

5. i've decided i'd rather take 118 degree weather over any 90 degree humidity.
dry heat is so much more bearable than humid hot.
like for reals, people.
the last 2 days have been hot hot hot, and stupid me works out outside,
the grass that is shaded is little relief from the direct sun bc it's just more humid on the grass in the shade.
wo is me.
poor, wonderful husband, he works outside during the hottest part of the day :(

6. speaking of hot,
THE POOL AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX COSTS MONEY!
what the freak i'm so mad,
firstly, you don't open the pool til june 26
and then secondly, you want me to pay to go the pool ($75 for 1 person!!!!!!!!!) in the complex that i already pay rent for!?!!?!
you have got to be flipping kidding me.
new jersey is not on my good side...

7. lastly, on a happier note, my favorite moments from AZ while we were gone on the trip:
the 6 hours we played with nieces and nephews in AZ, we had such a blast.
i miss being around family, or at least semi close enough to drive to them.
well, the two most memorable moments:
A. casey, phoebe, and annalee in their swimsuits outside in the hot sun.
casey is squatted as low as he can go and the little ones follow because that's just what they do, they follow.
holding the hose.
teaching them how to drink out of it.
probably one of my most favorite moments i've seen thus far in my life.
something about it was just so perfect.
no picture, but i'll forever remember it.
B. we're all inside, trying to get swimsuits and sunscreen on the kiddlings.
casey, phoebe, tristan, and a little boy blair babysits all huddled around an ottoman in the family room.
their attention is completely on casey.
no wiggling, yelling, or anything.
just interested with what casey was doing.
later i came to find out that he was making them each do a "trick" he wanted them to do and then he'd give them a skittle.
Photobucket
boy i do love that man of mine...

14 things that have been occupying my time lately.

i've truly had a most wonderful week.
i don't have energy left, but it's been wonderful.
here's the rundown.

  1. conference, wasn't it wonderful. we sure loved it our our house. got to have lunch with casey's extenended family as usual between sunday sessions. such a great group. they were planning the family reunion and i was so sad hearing all the fun details since we can't be there for it this summer. i'm determined to go next time it's going on.
  2. the weather has been most fabulous. i'm dying every time i go out. i want to fling my arms out, and start yelling, i love this weather! i love the sun! i love spring! how do i stand you, winter, every year?!?!
  3. the tulips are blooming, the cherry and pear trees are have blossomed and i can't get enough of it. how is it that fall and spring are the most beautiful seasons and last the least amount of time? but truly, i love all these pretty flowers everywhere.
  4. i went to school at 8 am on tuesdsay and returned to my home 2:15 the following day. it was a constant go go go.
  5. amanda and weston had their baby! so happy for them! we squeezed in an hour trip to the hospital on tuesday and got to hold him at just hours old. so precious! mr britton douglas woodruff.  so thrilled for all of them.
  6. baked a bajillion cupcakes this week.
  7. helped put on a baby shower for two girls in the ward this week. so fun being with all the ward girls. one of them actually had her baby the previous saturday, so she couldn't make it but we got to go visit that cute small girl!
  8. also got have a birdal shower for one of my dear, dear friends, miss brooke, at my little glorified attic this week. so fun. i love that girl so much and am so happy for her. it's just a blast to get together with other girls in general, if you know them well or not, girls are just fun.
  9. got our graduation announcements ready(!!!!!!!!!!!).
  10. so done with school by the way. not that i'm counting down or anything, but i only have 3 days of classes left(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
  11. finished my fourth, and final, project for sewing class. i'll share my projects soon!
  12. took some photos of friends this week for graduation portfolios and maternity pictures.
  13. felt like i re-cleaned my house about a bajiliion times this week
  14. have been playing draw something so much on my phone and love it. do you play? you should play against me :) i laugh lots.
pictures to come another day when i have caught up on my sleep :)

toodles.

giving thanks.

Photobucket

i'm thankful:

we are in montana with family celebrate thanksgiving.

for my husband, and best friend, who is almost always with me, who makes me laugh all the time, and who cares about everything i do and feel.

for the gospel, it bring joy and purpose to my life knowing i'm a daughter of God and that Heavenly Father knows who i am and loves me.

for my education at BYU, where the spirit can guide myself and my professors, where we can talk freely of the truths of the gospel during educational study.

for nature, for winter and summer, fall and spring, for sunsets and sunrises, nights and days. the song for the beauty of the earth holds a special place in my heart.

to have my nieces and nephews, they make me so happy and i love them to bits!!!!

for nail polish, who a little bit of color on our fingers could bring so much joy?

for hot chocolate, because when you're frigidly cold, it warms up your whole body in an instant.

for phones and video chatting, when you're away from family, there's nothing better than those 2.

for this blog, it helps me write down what's going on in my life so i can look back at pictures and words and remember all the good, and some silly stupid things, in my life.

cool, not cool.

cool: the beautiful leaves.
not cool: when it's freezing but there's no snow.

cool: there's only 1 full week of school left after this week til Thanksgiving break!
not cool: all your professors decide everything is due before Thanksgiving break!

cool: casey bowled a 188 and 170 last week in a row!
not cool: those scores counted as casey's "handicap" for our team's new score when we compete against other groups. can you say that's impossible for us to win any game now?

cool: tissues with special softness in them so it doesn't hurt your nose
not cool: using crappy toilet paper when you run out of said tissues so your nose is red and tender.

cool: traveling
not cool: millions of hours in the car, blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

cool: being able to work the late night shifts at work that are easy
not cool: having 8 am class 4 days a week (i may or may not be arriving later and later to those classes...)

cool: stickers from the doctor
not cool: doctor exams

cool: going motorcycle riding
not cool: being sore for days and days after

Thursday, September 1, 2011

since school began

1. what i bought at the grocery store late saturday night: marshmallow matey's (we've got to survive people!), milk, peanut butter, jelly, wheat thins, bananas, and carrots. that is correct people, we've been living off of cereal and pb and j's this week. we rock.
Photobucket

2. we're in a bowling class together together (we love it). going through the class role the 1st day the teacher calls
"casey cutler?"
"here."
"kimber cutler."
"here."
"...are you two brother and sister?"
"husband and wife..."
ya, we rock.

3. remember how much we love our apartment and practically sold our souls to get back in it for this semester? we forgot how horrible that place is in the summer and late august/early sept = summer! that dang atti turns into an oven!! ha, but we're surviving with 3 fans placed in all the windows and a swamp cooler that turns our bedroom into a little ice box! we can't wait for fall/winter!

4. more on our humble attic: i think a bomb went off. with school and work, there has been no time to unpack and organize. we actually ate our cereal the first 2 days with the same spoon and large fruit bowl bc that's all we could find! if we do need to find something (usually in the wee hours of the morning when we're late to school), we tear through boxes like it's christmas morning and leave quite the noticeable trail...

5. we love our jobs. we most definitely missed our jobs. worst part of our job: seeing people you know but can't remember their name! it's so embarrassing and i'm horrible at it!!! and trust me, i see tons of people. if they don't remember my name, i've got a badge on so they don't have to feel stupid like me. but seriously, give me a break people!!! (espeacially you people i' haven't seen in 2 years!). all that matters is that i remembered them and my (fun) experiences with them, right?

6. do you remember years ago when i showed a picture of our new bed and it was on the ground? well guess what?! our bed isn't on the ground anymore! we don't have to live like savages!!! yay for our landlord buying a bed frame, and most importantly, a queeen box spring that splits apart so it fit up the attic stairs!!!

Photobucket
7. fact: for the first time ever i dropped a class bc the book was too expensive and i decided there was too much work in there that i sincerely did not want to do. heh heh.

8. today i was 10 minutes late to class bc i thought i was going to ride my bike to school and when i got on my bike both tires were flat. boooooo.

9. in the 1 hour's time we did have to unpack, we stopped and looked at our photo album from last year for 20 10 minutes. i am so excited for fall!!!!!!

10. this morning when i left for school, i woke casey up for a kiss, a prayer, another kiss and a goodbye like usual. but today after he said goodbye, 45 seconds later while i'm rustling around in the room he started mumbling goodbye again in his sleep. another reason how he keeps me smiling and happy when he doesn't even try to. thanks dearest husband of mine.

ps- why do i have time to write this when my house is a disaster and homework isn't done? waiting between classes thank you very much

Monday, June 13, 2011

11.we laid on the bed the other day in the middle of the afternoon and played scrabble on our phones against each other for 45 minutes. bliss.
12. we've been doing our hair curly lately with this tutorial and really like it!
i love being able to get my hair curly without having to use heat on it.
(dear woodruff SIL's, you're not welcome for showing you that video)
13-16. continuing to play with buddy, having yummy tacos, saw someone's beautiful kitchen and envied it immensely, another picture of the cookies we made.
Photobucket
17. and for all 1 of you cross country girls that read this blog, i've started doing 4 corners again. pretty much my whole work out for the day is 2-3 rounds of 4 corners and i'm hurting. ha, wowsers.

overall it's been a great week.

isn't it funny

isn't it funny when you know a girl all growing up/meet her when she has her maiden name, and then she gets married, and her last name changes, and for the life of you, you can never remember what her new last name is? goodness, i hate that. or once you do remember her new last name you can't remember which one is her maiden name vs. married name? hate that too.

isn't it funny, though, that once a friend of yours gets married you can automatically connect that new spouse's face to your friend's face? without a 2nd's thought, you accept that new person's face as being apart of who your friend is.

isn't it funny how when someone close to you has a baby, it's hard to believe they actually are a mom (or dad) and have their own child! it takes me forever to fully accept that they're an actual parent with this new human being they fully take care of and that their life revolves around? it seriously takes me 4-6 months (and that's when i consistently talk/see them).

isn't it funny that when you're around a specific group of people/person due to work/living/school situations and you love to be around them, no matter how hard you try to stay in contact with them afterward, it's just never the same. hate that.

(lastly, this one may only pertain to me) isn't it funny when you realize you tend to consistently read people's blogs who either a) you know well and love/like or b) have something that you don't have. i realized this about myself the other day and don't know if that's a good or bad thing...

random ramblings put into 1 post.

we go through phases.
food phases that is.
usually phases that involve crunchy things.
examples given:
sometimes we go through a sleeve of ritz crackers a day.
sometimes we go through gold fish like it's nobody's business.
sometimes i eat wheat thins it nearly every sitting.
sometimes we love cookies.
ok that one is always but you get my drift :)
it's funny how that happens but it always does
also, we are currently loving cuties and carrots (whaa!!?? where's this fruit coming from?!)

thank you for all the comments on my new haircut!
glad no one said i should've kept it long and was dumb to cut it:)
i did it curly for the first time yesterday and here was some of my thought process:
1.wow, i feel like i have little to know hair when i wash it!
2. wow, i barely have to use any product on it now!
3. wow, it dries so fast!
4. wow it's so short!
5. Whoa! after diffusing it, it turned into this huge halo of hair around my neck!
6. curling it is kinda hard bc it's not so easy to get to the back!
7. it's so bouncy!
8. and cute!
9. oh look, it rained, and now it looks a freaking lions mane and turned into a frizball
10. i look like i'm 13 again and don't know how to do my hair. dumb.
seriously. boo on the rain part.

want to know what the main demographics of the library is like on a saturday night?
white males.
asians.
that's my conclusion.

pizza.
it's quite yummy if you ask me.
i love hawaiian. mostly just the pineapple part of it, not so much the ham.
2nd to hawaiian is pepperoni pizza without the pepperoni.
i don't really like the perpperoni its self but i love the taste of the pizza with the juices of the pepperoni.
i don't like plain cooked cheese pizza,
it needs da juices :)
silly huh?

a little list of lately

1. there was a bat in the library the other night
2. we busted a doughnut party in the library the other night.
3. casey and i decided we want to try to run a half marathon at the end of may with his brother in indiana! wish us luck! we really want to do it but don't know how the time constraints of school will effect us when we get to our long runs
4. the ray charles pandora station is probably the best station ever
5. it's crazy to think that when the weather is in the 40's, i'm feeling great!
6. the 2 of us have had oober busy weeks with 7 tests, 2 papers, and 2 projects between the 2 of us...no bueno.
7. i finally finished my excel class! woohoo! i feel so inspired to actually use that program now!
8. no school on monday was the most glorious things ever.
9. ever since november, we have not had a dang pair of eyebrow tweezers at our house! it's getting kind of ridiculous. first, we forgot them at the cutler's house at thanksgiving, didn't get them back til the cruise, and then immediately after the cruise when we went to az we lost them there, and then casey got some for his birthday (from my mom bc she helped in the process of losing them) but then they accidentally took them back to az. we go long weeks of being eyebrow-hideous til we can find some relative's to let us borrow them while we're with them! ha, blah! i had no idea how often i like to pluck my eyebrows (nor did casey! ha)
10. sometimes i really wish that we'd be able to live in provo for at least one summer.
11. after our run today, casey and i realized i really only enjoy working out in groups: group fitness classes as well as running in a group! my whole life i've really always ran in a group (cross country and track). this is my first time really getting into running again and it's really boring by yourself! gonna need to work on that one...
12. egg burritos are often our go to meal when we're super hungry
13. i always have something lost: for the past few months my student ID has been lost more than it's been in my hand. a few times a week casey calls my phone while we're in our apt so i can find it. our 1 set of ear buds to listen to can't be found half the time. and currently, i can't find my keys. luckily the old couple who lives next door is friends with our landlord and has spare keys to all the apartments he owns. his name is Al and her name is Dottie, i'm always embarrassed to have to ask them to let me in when i get caught without keys! but lucky me they're retired, always home, and always nice :)

hi, my name is kimber

so his blog, is mostly about things we do, or that i think,
not much about what i'm like, that make sense?
(of course you'll learn about me through what i do and think but, ya know:)
a friend and cousin tagged me to list 15 things about myself that you might not know.
so here's a little bit about me: kimberly woodruff cutler
  1. i have all my wisdom teeth still in, like full on in my mouth, helping chew my food still.
  2. chocolate chip cookies is my absolute weakness, i inhale those babies
  3. second to chocolate chip cookies is oreos, doesn't matter where we are, if there's a dessert that has oreos in it, i'm all over it: shakes, ice cream, pie, cake, cheesecake, etc
  4. i still wear a toe ring that my dad bought for me when i was in 7th grade. i've only taken it off in very rare dance circumstances
  5. i'm anal about which hand towel you use for your hands v. your face.
  6. i love math and numbers, i really do. to me, it just makes perfect sense and i love how there's an exact answer and you can prove how you got that answer
  7. i won the 100 m hurdle race for my region in high school senior year
  8. i wear special orthotics when i work out/wear tennis shoes
  9. my favorite movies are how to lose a guy in 10 days and hitch, i've watched both a billion times and love them
  10. i was engaged at the mature old age of 18 (gasp!) and married when 19
  11. i was always considered the molly mormon of my group of friends in jr high and high school
  12. i love milk. i think i've mentioned this before but i really do! milk at every meal and during snacks i say (plus it goes beautifully with a chocolate chip cookie).
  13. this isn't about me but it's from the repercussions of me: i love shoes. when casey and i got married he had 5 pairs of shoes (1 black church shoe, 1 brown church shoe, 1 sneaker, 1 croc sandal thing, 1 basketball shoe [all in pairs of course]). in the time we've been married, he now has 15 shoes...he now understand the importance of a love variety of shoes!
  14. i'm obsessed with looking at cookie decorating blogs
  15. casey was the 2nd boy i ever kissed

i challenge/tag a few of my freshman girlies to go ahead and try this too!
(if you haven't update in awhile, here's your chance!)
good luck! hope to see your posts!

quick update

  • we've been in AZ all weekend. absolutely loved it. 70 degree perfect weather. more to come on that later
  • we are incredibly tired. waking up at 4:30 am for a flight is not worth getting to classes on monday.
  • casey and i have the airport thing down pat. i sleep on his lap/shoulder the entire plane ride (which is incredibly comfortable) and he orders double the amount of "complimetary" drinks for himself saying that's what "she" wants
  • casey joined my gym class tonight, it was so fun having him there and agonizing in pain together
  • i finally found an affordable place to certify with to become a group fitness instructor for the gym and i'm totally stoked! it's bought and everything! we're hoping for certification sometime in February, yay! i couldn't be happier about it!
  • my throat hurts terribly, i really would rather not get sick :(
  • oh and when we got off our flight today, it was snowing...70 degree sunshine weather to snow is a chilly difference

today

today i slipped on the ice straight onto my bum.
by myself.
it would have been funny if i was with someone,
but it was just pure stupid bc i was by myself.
i then went into our apartment with a pouty face blaming casey bc he wasn't there

today i forgot my keys to our apt AGAIN.
not exaggerating, casey and i have locked ourselves out about ten times this semester.
luckily our landlord is awesome and nice and lives 2 doors down and always comes and unlocks it
he also gave the old neighbors next door spares to the apt too. we know them too now :)
but since it has happened so much lately, i was too embarrassed to ask him for help... again.
so i went across the street to a friend's house and waited there for an hour til casey got home.
thank you amy brown for living so close and being home.

today i broke a nail.
as dumb as it sounds, i hate when that happens

today i realized that it makes me oober happy when i hear a friend of mine is
a) dating someone
b) engaged
or
c) pregnant
so keep 'em coming folks

today i saw that all the BYU christmas lights were up.
 it made me so happy.
today i decided BYU is the absolute best school ever (actually i decided that a long time ago;).
why? bc we're one of the only schools in the country who gets to put christmas everywhere around campus, say merry christmas to everyone, and bask in the christmasness of the season and not having to worry about offending people bc...we all have faith in Christ.
i just love it.

today i also decided BYU gets the best christmas trees award.
since they have millions around campus,
all can have awesome themes and unique touches.
it's absolutely magical everywhere you go.

today i came to school when it was dark (6:30 am)
and will be leaving school when it is dark (12:30 am)
oh how we love work.
no, really.
true i did go home for an hour in the day.

today while at work,
a girl was trying to turn in a bunch of books at around 8:00 pm.
the cart was full and i told her, with a straight face, we weren't accepting anymore books today.
hehe, i know. i'm mean :)
the look on her face was hilarious: pure worry.
i immediately told her it was in fact ok to drop off her books though.
it was quite the funny moment.

today, my mom did some of my landscape assignments for me:
she took pictures of bad landscape designs that cause problems with turf.
her pictures were spot on correct which equaled hilarious as well.
thanks mom.

today i saw one of my most favorite girls in the library and talked to her for a bit.
it made my day.

today i also planned a little get together with another friend for late december in az...
the excitement will only build from here :)

last but not least,
today casey and i did not have the will to do any of our assignments.
we did get them done
(kimber= 1 paper, 2 small turf projects, and 1 accounting quiz...not that i'm counting though...)
but not without a good amount of kicking, screaming, and biting.
