Snow, super heros, and a birthday

This seems like a distant memory, sometime in february i believe. So much white snow. So cold. So dreary. I do know it was so fun for Max to go outside and play in it though. It took SOOOO much effort for me to get all 3 kids out there and playing but it was still very much fun.

Snow day!

We finally got some decent snow the past couple days!!!!!!!!!! Max is a freaking rockstar out there. I love to play with him oh so much outside, it's like his whole world is happy once again.

We got a TON of snow in about an hour, it was so fun to go out into that snow storm with the kids (there was A LOT of crying from the babies before we finally got out there for so many reasons but once they were on the sled they were finally happy!)

 Bryson kills me. I love him so much.

 I can't really remember if Quinny ever cracked a smile those 20 minutes outside, I mean he probably did but just LOOK at that face!

 They were happy when our outside excursion ended.

 20 min of tears to begin the adventure. 10 minutes of outside fun, 5 minutes of tears outside, and 20 more minutes of tears inside of getting clothes off, i'm hungry, my face is cold, clean up the clothes inside. Sigh, I love winter, I love winter, I love winter, I love winter. (I actually truly do LOVE winter when there's snow outside, it gives us a fun reason to GO outside in the cold!!!)

 In the afternoon we brought the snow inside for the kids which they always love so much!

THANKSGIVING!

We spent a lovely Thanksgiving in Green River, WY with Casey's family. We had plans to drive to Utah Thanksgiving day to be with Casey's dad's side of the family but there was a lot of snow the night before and a little more that day so sadly we didn't end up getting to make the drive. I wasn't disappointed to miss out on 6 more hours of driving with my kids that day but I am sad we didn't get to meet up with Casey's cousin, Kayli, who has twin boys 5 months older than mine, it would have been a riot with all our boys together!

Grammy and Max made these little sugar turkeys, Max ate so much of the candy, frosting, and cookies during it that I hoped so badly he would get a tummy ache and realize the consequence of his actions. Watching them do that activity and constantly telling Max not to continue eating it all reminded me why I don't do fun activities like that with him yet, ha, as mean as that sounds. I try to avoid any and all power struggles of candy and other things with that boy. I'm glad they had fun.

Here is their pointers win/fail, I thought it was hilarious.

Snow! We got to play lots in the snow that day, it was Maxson's first snow of the season and it's so fun to see the excitement in their discovering it all over again.

Quinn was terribly upset that he couldn't come outside with us. Grammy helped him touch the snow, I took a video of it too and his little giggle when touching the snow is adorable.

You can always find these grandparents on the ground with little ones. Poo Grandpa's back though, Max just dines't know how to be careful around him.

We got to happened to come in the night of Karlee's 16th birthday celebration, I just cannot believe that girl is 16, so crazy!

How teenagers spend Thanksgiving day/prep apparently, ha.

We worked real hard on coloring some music books Casey wanted for our family.

Oh and back to Thanksgiving dinner, I did the rolls, stuffing, a sweet potatoes this year. Not my best rounds but still good.

Snow days

Snowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. 

I am not a fan of winter. Well winter is ok for just 3 months, at the maximum. After that it's just not welcome in my books, BUUUUUUUT, if you add in some snow, honestly, winter could last a lot longer if that snow happened more often and stayed white and fluffy and pretty. Snow makes the cold so much more fun and pretty and wonderful! A week or so ago we got 2 pretty good snowstorms back to back and it made for a beautiful outside snowy wonderland.

 It snow/rained half of Saturday and didn't stop until Sunday afternoon. It was so beautiful outside. Church was cancelled and we stayed home and just watched the beauty of this earth. And then Monday school was cancelled too, yippee!

 We walked Max around in the sled and went down the tiny hill next to the driveway over and over. The snow was so deep he just crawled on his hands and knees up the hill, it was so funny to watch.

The next day we graffitied the snow with some colored water and built a beautifully rough snowman.

And that was our fun with the snow.

(This was written a few weeks ago, it's not nearly as frigid anymore and there's no more snow)

So it's cold.

Really cold.

I actually wouldn't know how cold it truly is since I stay locked inside with the twinsies in our balmy 73 degree home.

All week long it's ranged from 0-36 degrees. Usually it hangs out in the teens and low twenties when you bring in the humidity factor. Our heating bill is going to be a nightmare this winter…

I digress, THE SNOW! I can take the cold if there's snow involved and for us there has been. It snowed the day Casey's momma got in town Nov 11th (a few weeks ago) and has stuck to the grind and added more snow ever since! We got a decent storm on Saturday and were thrilled to go play in it with Maxson! He kept yelling out the window and while we were outside with much enthusiasm "NOOOOOO!" as in sssssssssssssssssnow!

Now when we go outside Max thinks we can always pull the sled in the street…Nokay.

My favorite part about winter is the snow for sure. It's cold but there's  reason you can actually go outside and play in it!!! As weird as it sounds, I wish it would snow more often so it gave us an excuse to go outside and BE outside and cold ha. 

Grammie in town

Casey's mom was so wonderful too and came to help us the day after my mom left for another week and a half. So grateful for the time she spent with us and all she did to take care of us! Helped us survive another week a little more sanely! Here's some pictures:

 Max caught a glimpse of the cupcakes Grammie brought him for an early birthday present. He was STOKED. (And at the same time furious when he couldn't have any until after dinner, typical 2 year old)

 So happy when we finally got to eat them!
