Bedtime and routines

We've fallen into a routine,  routine I routinely love.

Casey is constantly in and out of the house, I can never expect him to be home or gone but he's both home and gone a lot (home a lot more often than he used to be, this is a cushy semester and I'm thankful for it). We've learned our places. Places that make life flow a little bit more easily.

Usually right after Max goes to bed I say to Casey "Max really is a good boy, I love him so much." Casey agrees and then we start talking about the silly things he did throughout the day, how hilarious he is, and how naughty he is, but it always comes back to him truly being such a good boy, he could totally be harder and worse in so many ways. Instead, he's just so eager to help, to be apart of things, to learn, to play, to be given attention. Oh how I love watching him grow. Oh how I love him

Casey always puts Max to bed and I always put the babies to bed, that's just way we work. Max hasn't given Casey a hard time about going to sleep in what feels like forever. He just gets it. They have their rhythm of bedtime, smooth like butter. Max sleep with monkey, duck, and baby monkey. He always wants to read the apple book and Casey spends so much time with him at each bed time routine going over letters, I can't believe the progress Maxson has made these past couple weeks because Casey has taken the time to sit and work with him on them. He's picked up identifying them so quickly, it's been really fun to be surprised by his progress during the day time.

I always put the babies to bed (kind of obvious since I gotta nurse them). Diaper changes, swaddles, nursing, bottles, burping, and to bed they go. They're little angels when it comes to night time sleep, every week it gets better and better. Bryson can consistently sleep 11-12 hours at night and I'm flabbergasted and ever so thankful for it. Quinn usually wakes up after 8-10 hours to eat and then again 3 after that. I he wakes up around 8 hours I feed him and pump on the other side. If it's more the 10 hour range I force Bryson to wake up too to eat so they will sleep longer afterwards. I really don't feel like I've done much different with these boys as I did with Maxson other than the rock n play, so I contribute it all to that and just their wonderful personalities. (Crossing my fingers this lasts and it's not just a phaseeeeeeeee!)

*Disclaimer*: they're kinda awful for daytime naps and have fallen into those 45-60 minute cat naps they drive me CRAZY. Starting today I've started letting them cry for 10 minutes to see if they'll fall back to sleep themselves, hopefully in time they'll get it. It's also sometimes not super smooth to put them to sleep, sometimes we have to work real hard to get them to fall asleep, like going up a billion times to put the binkie back in and picking up and feeding more food and and and. The new rule is to put binkie in once and after that give them 5 minutes to figure it out themselves. Hopefully those new rules will help because it gets really frustrating and tiring going up and down the stairs a billion times to help two babies fall asleep. Often times one goes down easily but then the other one fights ya so you can usually count on one baby giving you a hard time. Hopefully this will all help and they can start taking longer day naps. I really try not to complain much at all (except to Casey) about this though since they are amazing nighttime sleepers. I'd rather have it this way than awful nights and great days.

Gosh how do I always turn into a word vomit of a blogger lately? My apologies.

More pictures?

Mk.

Look at my cute twins. Don't you wanna just eat them up? QB
When you get them both to smile it's like being on cloud 9. My heart just wants to jump out of my chest and I want to explode with love for them and squeeze them I love them so much! BQ

Mk, that's it for today. To bed we go.

PS- I love hearing from all you "readers" If I know you in person or if I don't, it's so fun hearing things from people. Some of you have been so sweet and encouraging lately it just helps me so much. As a stay at home mom sometimes it can get a little secluded (especially winter time with tiny babies) but I read each and every blog comment, email, IG comment and letter that comes my way and it's so fun to hear when people read this or that or enjoyed this post and can totally relate to that situation or Kimber, how about you try this. Don't be shy, I love hearing your comments or even knowing the fact that you read my tiny, silly blog over here! From the bottom of my heart, thank you! And you secret readers, don't be shy! Leave a comment sometime or better yet, tell me in person that you read my blog, it will make my day!

messes mostly make me laugh, and truly, it's fun for him to explore.
it's all learning to him.

april fool's

so casey loves april fool's as you can see by this video here.
not really, actually, he might hate it because of that video.
and 2 years later i still think that video is sooooooo funny.

well this year, he got a nice little letter in the mail telling him of a $400 parking ticket from indiana :)
 photo IMG_2857_zps43dbc011.jpg

back story: he's gotten like 3 parking tickets in indiana for the silliest of reasons, so this was quite believable.
our printer was acting up tons when i was trying to print this out and this is what the letter is supposed to look like, but casey didn't know the difference.
i downloaded the blog's original ticket, opened it in photoshop and adapted it to fit casey.

when he pulled out his phone to call the number and inquire about the ticket (quite irritated) is when i called it april fool's,
teehee...silly kimber.

at least this year i didn't get his clothes all wet, so maybe he didn't mind nearly as much :)

belly laughing it up

not exaggerating when i say casey and i have watched this video close to 40 times over the past week.
we constantly replay it, rewind it, and watch it over and over
hearing him laugh like this makes me laugh every time!
he did it back to back a few times and hasn't done it since,
but casey will not give up.
totally serious when i say if he's not studying these days, he's trying CRAZY DARN HARD to get this  bebe to laugh again!
so until that day comes, we will keep watching this beauty :)

blowout...in the bread machine

so, i try to read a lot.
to prepare myself for the little baby that will be coming soon.
what type of blank is the best type to buy.
how many clothes does he need.
what's birth/the hospital going to be like.
how to nurse.
what to expect.
etc etc.

and of course with reading blogs and talking to siblings, i've heard about the inevitable blowouts.
not looking forward to those, but whatevs.

but sunday, i felt like i had a blowout in my bread machine.
let's just say 2 T of yeast in a bread machine IS WAY TOO FLIPPING MUCH.
the rolls still turned out tasting way yummy,
but clean up was a beast.
if you've ever used a bread machine, there's like a little bucket inside you can take in and out with a handle that holds your bread.
way easy to clean.
but there's extra space (at least in my machine) surrounding the bucket.
and the dough WENT ALL OVER into every nook and cranny.
and you can't just clean it up because it's all STICKY!
during my 25 minutes of cleaning it all, I was thinking "it would have been less work to just make the dough by hand!"
(it actually may not have that's just what i was thinking at the moment).

moral of the story.
bread machines rock.
too much yeast in bread machines does not rock.

i'm lame and didn't take a picture,
would have been great for memories but oh well :)

overheard

funny things i've heard while watching the little girls

i overheard phoebe say "i can't, i have a baby in my tummy"

annalee on the couch, opening pages of the book of mormon: "heleman went to get the gold plates from laman and lemuel..."

mommyhood by fire

so my sweet little niece, ruthie, is still in pennsylvania recovering from surgery on her pancreas.
i have come to arizona for a 2 week stay to watch over the 2 older girls.
it really has been fun.
they are 2 super easy going girls.
very obedient and polite pretty much 24/7 (except if annalee is hungry...)

things i've learned thus far this week:

1. white shirts are the dumbest idea ever. they will undoubtedly get stained.
2. even really tidy kids make big messes.
i clean the kitchen floor and counters like a majillion times a day.
3. if you actually think of something remotely fun/new to do they think you're the best person in the world.
Photobucket
4. they can eat like a million cookies but only like 3 carrots before they're full, weird...
Photobucket
5. the really will copy what you do.
here they were sitting on the couch with book of mormons open making me repeat what they were saying.
Photobucket
6. kids yoga is so funny to watch them do.
we are most definitely doing more of that!!!
this is the tree pose.
Photobucket
7. these little sinks at IKEA are the best things ever.
why doesn't every place have them?
Photobucket
8. while we're on the subject of bathrooms, being fully potty trained is worth the child's weight in GOLD. annalee is spectacular at it. phoebe is pretty darn good at it when she's at home and bare bummed, if not, there's no telling what it will be like. never really understood how parents remembered their children's potty schedules but now i KNOW to stay close to home during the afternoon hour if you know what i mean...
9. being a parent is truly exhausting. i now understand why other parents love when casey and i come over and play with their children for long periods of time. what a nice break!
10. mini vans are pretty darn convenient.
i'm cruisin in the honda odyssey and those automatic sliding doors open/shut buttons are the best things ever.
11. bananas are apparently the yummiest food ever.
i bought eleven  bananas yesterday before dinner,
tonight after dinner we have 2 and 1/4 left.
12. it's really funny the things kids will start repeating after you.
thus far they've really clung onto "crazy lady" and "not cool"
to my luck they ignore my crap/py, dang, and stupid.
i know, bad example on those, i'm working on it.
13. having visitors over is the best thing ever.
you'd think granny and papa and kirk and whitney were super heroes with the way they treated them
14. lastly, this moment of parenthood is GOLDEN
Photobucket
15. even more golden is getting them out of their car seats half sleepy as they cling to your neck, they half awake say "i love you kimber" and then pass them into their beds, back to sleep.

really, being with these girls all day is cake.
they're so easy.
i'm really grateful that my situation at this time in my life has allowed me to come help their family out.
lil ruthie's suregery went really well.
but she now has pancreitis (or something that sounds like that).
her stomach doesn't feel good at all, she's not eating normal, and throwing up a lot.
logan has gone for the weekend to be with blair and ruthie in PA so I will be alone with the girls til Monday night.
they facetime a lot as a family and individuals which helps everyone emotionally i think.
(even i get to facetime with casey about 2 times a day and it emotionally charges me).

i'm so happy i have this experience of being here with these girls and family!
hopefully i will actually write about more of the funny moments each day!

examples:

annalee got a cookie because she ate all her dinner.
phoebe had barely touched her dinner but she insisted she get a cookie too and NOW!
i squatted down to her level trying to explain how she could get a cookie and why it was that way.
i counted off my fingers saying "you can have a carrot, a cucumber, more potatoes, or cottage cheese."
so i have 4 fingers up.
she looks at my hands for a long time debating.
in my mind, i'm thinking i've finally gotten her.
she reaches out to grab my 2nd finger and says "cookie!"
oh that wee devil.
she did eat 1 carrot

when annalee and phoebe realized logan was with blair at the hospital through facetime,
annalee shouted at "you're in nebraska!?!"
they apparently remember me talking about casey in nebraska a lot.

annalle kept calling yoga, gogurt.

and this last one isn't really a specific story,
but every morning phoebe questions me "you have a baby in your tummy?
a big baby? because you have a big tummy."
i always ask her what should i name my baby and she always responds "boy"

that's it for now!
i must now continue my mommyhood training by going to bed early so when those girls wake me up at the crack of dawn, i won't be exhausted!

ps- i'm officially 7 months pregnant! wahoo!

free crappy portraits.

ave you heard of free crappy portraits?
i sent in our bio at the end of February and was SO excited to get ours back this weekend.
it's the silliest picture and so outlandish but that's why i love it.
it's just so gosh darn funny!
we were laughing our bums off while looking at the picture!

here was the bio I sent:

We are Casey and Kimber Cutler.

One day Casey will be a dentist and loves snowcones. Sometimes Casey wears V-neck shirts that are koolaid colored.

One day Kimber will be a full fledged balloon lady, bc balloons make people happy!!!!! especially HUGE pink ones!!!!!! Kimber also always wear really bright pink or red lipstick, and has bangs.

They went skydiving together last year.

We're moving to Nebraksa this year, you know Nebraska? Like the one Lady Gaga sings about in You and I!?!?!?!? We'll be famous!!!!

This year we're going to buy a dog and it's name will be Jimmer (like the b-ball player...ya know?)

We're going to move back to  Arizona someday bc it's way more fun to play buy a pool all year and be hot than freeze your bum off in Nebraska.

We eat doughnuts for breakfast, 2nd breakfast, lunch, onesies, supper, and dinner. Don't forget the sprinkles!!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

if any of you ever get one please share so i can see yours!
they're just too funny!

manners.

excuse me if this post is too personal/offends you but i think it's hilarious and just can't forget about it.

casey

confined in someone else's home for 2 hours plus
=
the second the door shuts behind us to begin walking home, there's about a 30-45 second (or so it seems) blowhorn that comes out of him.

this is the only time in our marriage that i completely belly laugh at his not-so gentleman-like sounds.

i die laughing.
and he's dying from pain of holding it in.

everytime.
everytime.

but i am grateful for his manners in someone else's home. grandma christensen and mom cutler have taught him well.

Brian Regan.

last october we bought out tickets to go see BRIAN REGAN in january!
that date in january has finally come and we had such and incredible time!!!
the journey to the concert was, stressful, to say the least.
teeth were bared, a few tears were shed, but we FINALLY found a parking spot.
parking downtown slc (when you have 10 minutes til your event) is terrible.
BUT, we made it, with time to spare!
Photobucket

we were beyond excited to be there.
joe bolster opened for brian regan and was indeed hilarious,
but once brian regan came on the stage our smiles were ear to ear for the next hour and a half.
it was just the best.
he is so funny,
his material is everday funny stuff that he exaggerates and it's SO TRUE!
for our future benefit and laughing fit.
here we go!

taking the christmas tree down.
the new year's moment and celebrating your life like new year's every moment: crazy
remembering people's names, has a j and a c...good luck
dancing, strobe-light dancing
the first words on the telephone
the feather pen
marching band...marching accountants, loop holes with no red flags
fixing the house, only knowing to point and mutter where it's broken.
telling people how to fix your house, the tool belt
greetings at a party...chest bumping some lady, homes/watson
getting older, small talk with doctor that you're in pain
guy on the camel- people throwing stuff at him
running for president, cain having to explain
no jokes at the airport
longevity analysis...not worth it to eat healthy
the other people named brian regan: convicted felon, screen writer
102 dalnmations
hair on the middle of his forehead
UPS again- people shake their head when he does it "wrong"
trying to understand mortgages, like a magic trick
checking in for a hotel room- zippitydooda and yippeiokaya...crazy guy always gets a room
iDoctor
guys don't talk about life while golfing, gary dating anyone?
octopus have 6 arms, 2 legs, lots of bad habits to ensue
when singers talk about why they wrote sad songs, awkward.

if you get the chance to go to a show of his, pay the money and GO!
so worth and such a great memory for us!

april fools

don't you like that the first thing he says he's mad about is that he "just put on new clothes?"

casey didn't like it so much at that moment, nor even 10 minutes later
but 15 minutes later when he watched the video, he laughed too :)

what a cute guy eh?

divine comedy

divine comedy is just that: comedy that is divine!
it's a group of byu students who get together to make clean, hilarious comedy skits/show
in their words " Divine Comedy provides a gentle satirical look at student life at BYU and LDS culture in general. Also, we do other silly stuff that we think is funny. Your mileage may vary."
last night casey and i got to go to their show again and laughed our bums off.
they never disappoint. never.
once the show was over we looked at each other and both said our chest hurt so much bc we laughed so hard for such a long time!
the line was ridiculous long to get in (tickets are always sold out within 2-3 once they go on sale) but somehow we still got really good seats which provided us about a thousand glow sticks, candy, and close-up funniness :)

here's a sneak peak at what you're missing if you've never seen one of their shows

the most important things at the grocery store

late saturday night on the way home from the rodeo the following converstation was held at about 11:00 pm in the car:

casey: we need to go grocery shopping
kimber: tonight? i'll just go monday when i have a grocery list
casey: but we don't have any food
kimber: what don't we have?
casey: cereal, ice cream, chocolate covered gummy bears, food
in that order

on another note, i don't know what we'd do without our gps
it saves our lives.
especially here in roseville, ca where the roads are wacko.
most the times we like it (her).
many times we passionately dislike it (her).
it's a her because that's the voice, either an annoying american voice of british :)
currently it's british.
sometimes we call her the gps wench .
mainly when it leads us some dumb way and we follow its directions instead of going where we know is better is when we passionately dislike her
the following conversation was held in the car one day:

kimber: why are we going this way?
casey: i don't know, the gps is dumb
kimber: i wish our gps took us the most direct route
casey: i wish our gps took us the practical  route

i thought it was funny

note the only options the gps has "fastest time", "least distance", "surface roads only" and other silly ones that i swear no one would ever use.
