Maxson turns 5!

Maxson turns 5!

He is a special boy, he's truly a very loving boy. Takes care of others needs, is thoughtful, can be super loving, can focus very well and is a deep thinker. He's growing up so much, it's just crazy!

Just yesterday he asked me "Is God going to give us a sister?" In definitely caught me off guard. I answered "I sure hope so! But I don't know. Our next baby may be a boy or a girl, but you can pray for a sister because God answers prayers sweet boy!"

Another day we had a conversation about Sis Huff (his primary teacher) Max tells me "Did you know Sis Huff's Dad died? How will she get a new dad?" From there we had a little discussion on eternal families and heaven and waiting and it was a sweet, but quick little conversation we had together.

Another day during a prayer, Max gives such sweet prayers so often, Casey and I are always squinting our eyes open to look at each other with a little smirk with a "did you hear that?" during his prayers, he's really so so sweet and thoughtful. Things he's said during prayers lately:

-Grateful me and my brothers can be on the same soccer team together
-Grateful we can be a family forever and mommy and daddy were married in the temple
-Please that we can have a baby sister
-Grateful our elf can go bak to the north pole to talk to Santa and come back

I know there's more adorable things just can't think of any!

So he was super excited for his birthday! He saw it on the calendar way long ago and was just looking forward to the day for months! On his birthday morning he woke up and I happened to be awake trying to shew the twins back upstairs into bed at 5:45 am, he came down and I got to see his sweet face of excitement as he looked at all the decorations and his presents! I gave him a big hug and said "Happy birthday sweet boy! Now go back to bed" haha.

One the light in their room turned green we all came downstair to open presents! He was such a sweet boy excited for each one no matter how big or small.

We made waffles for breakfast because he loves waffles! And even put mini M&M's on it, lit candles and sang happy birthday/let him blow out the candles as many times as he wanted. We then got to cleaning the house and getting it ready for his friends to come over for his birthday party! He's never been such a fantastic cleaner without complaining before lol, he even started BOB fo me! he just kept asking are my friends coming over now?! (and the count down was like 3 hours haha)

His friends came over for a super hero party! Everyone was supposed to wear their favorite super hero costume and there were some cute kids! Max invited, Adyn, Brodie, Crue, Adalyn, Serenity, Owen, Meitzen and of course Bryson and Quinn (those who couldn't come were Kelly, Nathan, Mason, and Dax.) So there were a lot of fun kids! When they got here they jumped on the tramp for a long time and played in the bounce house. I led them through "Super hero super hero come alive" and then all the balls on the tramps were bad guys they had to run away from. We came in and had pizza I had picked up from Papa Murphys. I squeezed all the kids around our kitchen table and the twins were SO eager to sit on big chairs with all the big kids, it was one of those mama heart melting moments where they wanted to be big like everyone else, it was so cute haha.

Next we opened presents, then they all got to be Hulk and smash down a wall of bricks they had to keep building over and over (at this pint max was being a stinker and not participating and being pouty and that made me frustrated.) At the perfect moment Casey came home from work  and I prepped him how to be a bad guy and then told all the kids that a bad guy just robbed a bank and stole a bunch of money! Their eyes were huge (the twins were so into it) and I told them if they see a bad guy to drag them over to this chair and tie him up! At the perfect moment Casey came in with the Hulk mask on yelling he just robbed a bank! The kids were so cute all on him like flies trying to drag him over to the chair, so funny. I then gave them all a little pack of streamers and they wrapped Casey to the chair, it was just so so so funny and fun for the kids. I'm glad Casey got to be apart of the party!

They jumped on the tramp and bounce house for a while and then came in and had cake and sang to Maxson and then back out jumping and left! It was a wonderful little birthday party and I'm so glad to we got to celebrate Maxson with his friends!

We had a little down time and watched Boss baby. The kids kept eating pizza and cake all day, and then we went for a quick look at the festival of trees at a local bank. Nothing quite compared to Utah, but still fun for the kids! When we got home we let the kids stay up a watch some small Christmas movies while eating popcorn and cereal. They all felt like it was so special and it was a great night to end with all our boys right around us. I love our little family. And I love that we have been blessed With mAson as our oldest child, he really is such a great one!

Also he was so eager to measured on the growth chart for his birthday! He's right under 4 feet!

Thing I don't want to forget my children are doing right now:

Maxson (3 1/2):

-Loves trying to catch lizards in the backyard, except he says "widuh" and no one except Casey and I can understand him.

-Always saying "I'm so big" "I'm such a big boy"

-Is a great helper when it comes to putting the dishes away

-Always wants his back tickled at night while you tell him a story

-Loves listening to Primary music and singing along. Maxson's enunciation is a little difficult to understand probably for a lot of people but as his parent I can tell he's saying pretty much all the words of the songs.

-Loves pointing out his "new friends!" we've made at church when they show up.

-Always asking to go to grammie and grandpa's house and talks about how it's his "favwit"

-likes to tell you things are his "favwit" suddenly

Bryson (22 months):

-loves to be held, he's always begging me to hold him when we go places. and then if I do hold him, Quinn goes crazy and apparently needs to be held too.

-calls his teddy bear his "nigh nigh"

-thrives on one on one attention, his giggle and scrunched up nose when he laughs is just the cutest

-Loves shoes. He's always putting on everyone's shoes and coming to show us

-He thinks it's hilarious to call our name so we'll look at him with his finger in his nose...goof ball

-he's the best sleeper. Never wakes up in the middle of the night, bless that child

Quinn (22 months):

-When grammie and grandpa enter his mind he comes up to you with big eyes saying "grammie, papa, house! grammie, papa, house! derrick! tay tay, karkar"

-will hold the water hose at people teasing to shoot it at you with the most evil and happy look at his eyes knowing he has all the power in his hands

-obssessed with "muht!" or milk. OBSESSED. milk and lawn mowers

-always wants to go outside to tell the birds to go away, sounds like "doh wahy burr! doh why!"

-once upon a time was our peacemaker...not going to lie now he's kinda the meanest, ha! Poor Bryson constantly gets bullied by lil Quinny

-His speech is flying. He connects multiple words all the time, it's incredible. He has a great memory of words I taught him a long time ago.

Love this little family of mine. We are in a really really fun hilarious cute adorable stage with our kids and also a really really awful exhausting screaming tiring intense stage with out kids. I know the whole "you're kids grow up fast" "blink and you'll miss this" "you'll miss this stage" "you'll want this back" and I'm trying my hardest to enjoy it, truly! But at other times I'm like "this is way too freaking hard, I need more breaks!!!!" ahhhhhh... this too shall pass, for good and for bad. I love my children, oh I do. I just wish there was less screaming and crying...

By the way on all these swimming pictures, the kids loved swimming in AZ. Bryson was our most fishy fish of the 3. SO awesome and independent with floaties. Maxson loved some of the day,s his bad ear infections put a damper on some of the days but truly he did love the water.

Adorable pictures of my kids

Surprisingly, life is kind of depressing currently. For a long time it was just exciting that we were all finally graduating and moving but now in a matter of a few weeks a bunch of my friends and I are just moving away from each other and it will never be the same. We're all going different directions. It'll never be the same again. We've spent 4 years with the Hinckleys and Blomstedts who were both in our same dental class and are going to completely differently places than us. And those same 4 years with so many other members of our ward we've come to so so dearly love.I'd be rude to name them off but seriously, 4 years with people you've become moms with, you've learned so much from, you hung out with almost more than you high school friends if you didn't include school hours because you can NEVER get enough playdates and park time and then moms meet up at frozen yogurt place times. It will be a sad sad day when we officially move. But like I said, it's already sad as our friends slowly peel off and move before we do.

Buuuuuuuuuuut onto some cute pictures. I feel like I never get out my nice camera anymore because I take so many pictures of all 3 kids, most don't even turn out like amazing or anything and then I don't have time to sit and go through them that it just one more thing to add to my life that I should be doing but don't have time for. I do miss really nice pictures of all the cute moments of my kids thought. Maybe I should challenge myself to do it more.

I've turned into one of those moms who posts 6 pictures of the same position because heath pictures has a different hilariously cute funny face on SOMEONE that needs to be saved, ugh, motherhood :) These are their new matching shirts straight from California via Jim and Jan Long!

Maxson's soccer season

Maxsons had an utter blast playing soccer this year. The first game he sat on the side for 50 minutes and REFUSED to have anything to do with the game or put his shirt on or anything, he was MAD. And it was hilarious because we knew he'd love it. After quite a few different things, somehow getting his shirt on, playing soccer in the dirt field behind us a couple times, going on the field during half time by himself to kick a couple goals in the net, and then being bribed with a  "rainbow popsicle" he finally got up and played the last 10 minutes and did awesome. Ran straight for the ball kicking, being aggressive, he was a natural. The coach the whole time was so great at gently encouraging him to keep participating the whole time, bless his heart.

Week two he loved it and played the whole time excitedly.

Week three we were out of town

Week four was awesome

Week five was cancelled

Week six was actually a make up game for the very first game that was cancelled. But it worked out perfectly because that's when graduation weekend was and both grandparents were in town to see him play! He had literally been asking for 2 weeks nearly every single day if he could go play in his soccer game and we kept having to tell him no next week, no at the end of the week, no in a couple days, no tomorrow. Like serisouly, he'd ask multiple times a day and was devastated when it was still one week until (because it had been cancelled). He came to really love it.

He did great in his last game, making one REAL shot in his goal and another in the other teams goal (but for 3 year old soccer we totally counted it as 2 goals!) Halfway through he was just so tired because he was playing nearly the whole time, he kept telling us I need a break, I tired. Would drink some water and go back out right away haha, plus he was probably a little hot. Also by the end he didn't care much at all about the ball, just racing people he thought was fast. Then I promised him rainbow popsicle again if he'd make a goal and he came through.

I can't wait to put him in soccer again next year!
