sweet babe of mine

i love this little baby,

i really do.
we have such a fun time with him.





i think casey and i got really really lucky.
tonight we were talking together about sometimes you hear new parents talking about how being a mom/dad is awesome but really hard too.
we honestly only feel the awesome part.
ok, yes, we haven't gotten around to the child making messes, throwing tantrums, and talking back, but i'm talking about the new baby stage.
maxson is so chill and very easy and so sweet and it's just the best.
even if he doesn't take long naps sometimes, he's still so happy when he wakes up.
and his night time sleep ranges from 10-11 hours in total.
if i'm tired in the morning that's not his fault at all,
it's because i stay up too late/i'm used to 10 hours of sleep, ha, but 8 is totally enough.

and then one day when casey came home from lunch, he was doing the dad thing like a pro

and i love that i have a husband who comes home from school with this on his face,
and then leaves it on his face for the rest of the day :)


he's just such a fun baby.
he's always throwing out smiles and sounds when we're talking to him,
i just love it.
the corner of his lips go up drastically and he's got the cutest tiny dimples on each side.
usually i don't get the smiles on camera because once i whip it out he's like
"ooh wowwwwww, what's that ginormous black thing by your face?"


and here's maxson's buddy, grant.
grant is actually over a month older than max, he and his twin sister abby were born at 29 weeks!
we got to visit them this week and it was really fun.
their family is also in the first year of dental school so we imagine/hope these boys will be the best of friends/trouble makers over the next few years!
it's funny in this picture maxson is wearing a bib, HE'S ALWAYS WEARING A BIB because he spits up so dang much, ha, i usually try to take them off when i get the camera out because i like the look of it more. before i had a baby i always thought "why use a bib? they're not very cute on their outfits and you can just wipe up the spit up off their clothes...ya, wipe the spit up off their clothes but then their clothes are SOAKING wet, and you don't want your baby to be in soaking wet clothes! how parenthood easily changes your thoughts...

i read it this summer and loved every minute.
she's such an incredible woman.
and today i went back and watched a small video of her story and progression,
it has reminded me to enjoy all the little details of motherhood just like the fatherhood video reminded me to admire casey's divine role so much.

i'm so grateful we'll be a family forever

wow, what a change of life in just 1 week.

best change ever?

i do believe so.

the following phrases are bound to be heard in the cutler house multiple times an hour:

the first 2 are definitely the big hitters around here.

i never really understood why parents kissed baby's faces so much but now i do.

all i want to do is kiss that cute adorable face constantly,

he doesn't mind it so much yet so i'm a gonna keep doing it.

casey has continued his baby whispering status.

if there is something that's not making max happy and i'm trying to calm him down,

casey is constantly swoopping in for the rescue  and has him asleep in less than 10 minutes.

EVERY.STINKING.TIME.

it's the best thing ever.

my heart wanted to burst when last night he came up the stairs and said "come to your poppy"

seriously though, night time feedings, casey is the best assistant ever.

i'll wake up and feed him for awhile and if he doesn't go back to sleep immediately, casey gets up by himself, takes him from me, i get back in bed, and within 10 minutes we have a sleepy baby back in his bed.

BABY WHISPERER.

this whole having a baby, being a mom thing is truly the best feeling ever.

i love this little boy so much.

we're so totally obsessed with him

i never thought i'd think a crying baby would be so cute.
when i'm trying to wake him up to feed it's adorable.
and then i tease him a little to make sure he's hungry:
i bring him to my face, he roots around, and thinks my nose is the right source,
then he makes a little yell and then he eats for real.
love this little boy SO SO  much!

i just want to eat him up!
i now understand why parents are constantly saying their baby "is the cutest baby ever"
i sure do believe it.
my heart wants to burst every time i look at him


i can't wait to share more about him
birth, our first week home, his cute little tendencies, and everything in between!

it may be awhile, sometimes i'm really tired :)

ps- i know some of these pictures make him look like he's a really big baby but he's actually is a little like baby.
8 lbs 8 oz is on the decently bigger baby size, but he dropped down to 7 lbs 7 oz and is thankfully creeping back up :)

you can't really see our faces, but i still love us.

missing husband.

so dropping casey off at the airport 2 weeks for him to go back to nebraska while i stayed was oober not fun.

it felt like the summer we were apart when we were engaged.

you see, we were engaged at the end of march and married at the end of november.

for 4 of those 8 months, casey was working in pennsylvania and i in utah at aspen grove.

those were 4 very long months to be apart.

at the end of june, casey flew back to utah for a family reunion and we were reunited for about 4 days.

best 4 days of my summer.

but returning casey to the airport that summer was the worst day ever.

tears.

tons of tears.

we both agreed that was the hardest tears we've ever shed.

sure, we knew we'd see each other again but we didn't want to leave each other.

this time i was yet again dropping casey off at the airport.

and yet again, it was tears.

i didn't want to  be apart from him for TWO weeks!

it was like he was dying!

i dropped him off looking like this

we facetimed and texted tons of course.

i had made casey a list called "kimber, i'm hungry" with lots of ideas for EASY dinner/lunch fixes.

after 3 days he sent me a picture of this:

he said this "this is what happens when wife is away"

i'm glad to be back with him (and feed him)

for my first morning back we made red and blue pancakes in honor of the BYU and nebraska games playing that day.

funny that i drew a Y and N...it looks like yes and no.

one lucky girl

i try not to post about my ooey gooey love for my husband too often on this blog because i don't feel like i need to share that with others.

i love my husband and don't feel like i need to proselyte to all my blog readers how i think mine is the best ever etc.

today i make a little exception.

lately i have been overwhelmed at how lucky i am.

example 1.

i wanted US to get manicure/pedicures for my birthday this year.

not one complaint or i don't want to go from this guy.

he came with me, he enjoyed it, he was laughing and smiling with not one ounce of self-consciousness for being the only male in the room.

i'd darn say he'd go again by himself to get that pedicure treatment.

he ignores the whole stereotype of what guys should or shouldn't like.
and because of that, life is so much funnier with him.
i just love this man so much.

 

example 2.
we don't have to have children around to watch disney movies.
the other week he took me to go see the new movie brave.
a) it was adorable
b) we both loved it and talked about how cute it was.
he's just the funniest and i love him.

example 3. 
he watches the show jane by design with me and loves it.
it's our show we look forward to every week.
we pause it for each other to get up and neither of us one to miss a thing.
a feel like a pretty lucky girl with this guy.

example 4.
children flock to this man.
i'm telling you he's the baby whisperer.
babies easily slip into a deep sleep in his arms.
toddlers are always running to him and following him around to play.
he gets down with them at their level to show them they're important and loved.
he's so patient with them.
he's so loving.
i am so beyond excited to see him with our little babes.

i remember my wedding day and during the reception thinking how i loved casey way more then than i ever did when we were dating, and that at some point that loved would be something more but i just didn't understand at that time how i could possibly love him more than i did at that moment.

and now i look back and see that our relationship is so much more now than it ever was then, we truly are one unit and i love every aspect of that. our love and commitment is deeper now than it ever has been and it will only grow form here.

i would not have wanted to spend these last 2 years any different.

love you sweets.

Today is the day that Kimberly turned 21 woot! woot! She is out of the limbo year and into her 20's. She is such a wonderful girl and I am so happy to have her as my eternal companion! She loves to dance, do crafts, coupon, play with kids, and many more fun things.  I want to just tell Kimber how much I love her and how great she is and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her! She's so CUTE!!!!!!!! Love YOU! and Happy Birthday!

truly you are wonderful.

whenever we did things together, you had this way of making everything so special.
you taught us how to ride motorcycles and now all us kids think we're so awesome bc most people just ride quads but we're super cool snobs and think bikes are better. wow. we're cool.
did you know that sometimes i would purposely fall asleep on the couch bc i knew you'd carry me back to my bed at like any age and then i felt like a princess in a movie being carried away.

fruit loops for dinner

it's one of those weeks

you know, 

those weeks where you wash the laundry but don't fold it until another week.

those weeks where the bed never gets made.

those weeks where you do some of the dishes but no all of them so it seems like the dishes never got done

those weeks when you're disagreeable for no reason

those weeks where you have cereal for dinner a few too many times

but it's weeks like those where you laugh at how pathetic you are

story:

casey and i are going out to the car

and like mentioned before i was being disagreeable for  no reason

and when momma aint happy, aint nobody happy.

jk :)

no but really.

so as were going out to the car casey stopped and said 

"ok, let's start over,

blah blah blah, 

let's dance,

oh you're a freshman? marry me (kneeling down on on knee).

blah blah blah summer is so long, 

kirk, hurry get home from your mission, 

oh cancun yay, 

ooooh look at our small cute apartment,

yay no more school, now we get to work,

and then in the car we sang "hot 'n cold", "party in the usa", "my life would suck without you", and "tik tok" much too loud in the car together, it was fun

so i'm writing this to remind myself and casey that, no, life isn't going to be all sweets and sugar like when we were dating/engaged but that's ok, but we can still laugh at how dumb we are and how not perfect is

and we're dancin

so... i had a ballroom competition this last weekend!

casey was suuch a good sport and got up oober early with me and stayed the whole time

(he kinda has to when he's my husband;)

i competed in novice standard and latin and pre-champ latin.

those dances are as follows: waltz/quickstep, samba/rumba, cha-cha/samba/rumba/paso doble

it was really fun to finally get out there and compete the dances we've been practicing for ages

and it's always fun to dress up!

it was a fun and very tiring day!

There She IS!

 

This was something I did for her  for Valentine's Day!

So we have had another busy week due to work and crazy school schedule, but it is always nice to leave a  post all about her because she is a very special Gal!! I love her so Much!! We have a great Valentine's Day with each other and Iwas able to surprise her with some flowers and candy and Coldstone Cupcakes!!! They were so Yummy! Megan and Scott helped with hiding the flowers at their house until Valentine's day so they helped keep the secret alive and then on Sunday I woke her up early after I had made my little surprise thingy and it was so Funny! Oh I love Kimber and am glad we never have to part unlike Romeo and Juliet.
