5 years

A very joyous and happy FIVE YEAR anniversary to us!

Holy heck, I really am baffled that it's been 5 years.

I think what I'm most surprised is where we are now 5 years later.

You know how you always fill out those goal lists of "where will you be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years etc?" If someone had told me I'd have 3 kids I'd give them a deer in the headlights stare and shake my head NO WAY! But here we are; 3 kids in 5 years! Along with that is 2 bachelors degrees, 7 moves, 2 cars, 3/5 of dental doctorate, and so much more but those are the big things that come to mind (mostly that 3 kids thing is the HUGE surprise)

Casey took his test this morning (he didn't fail, wahoo!) he came home and we popped in the that dusty wedding video of ours. Let me say it was the best. Gooey cheese all around and we were swimming in it. While we watched our skinny, young selves smooching it up the TV, Casey rocked/bounced Bryson and got him to sleep, I kept putting the binkie back in Quinn's mouth, Maxson was cuddled at my side entranced by this "movie." It was as ideal as I could ever picture spending our 5th anniversary. 2/3 of the way through Maxson got bored and began begging/whining for a "baaahh?!!! baaaaahh?????!!!!" (translated bath). We told him when the movie is over. He then began whining/crying "awwwww dun! awwwwww dun! awwwwwwwwwwwww dun!" (all done). Quinn woke up crying and I tried cuddling him close to me and after awhile gave him to Casey to rock and try to get to sleep while I kept pulling Maxson away from the eject button on the XBOX that was playing the movie. Nearly as soon as the movie was done both babies began squeaking and squawking in hopes to eat.

Like I said, it was the best 25 minutes of our morning watching our wedding video while living our crazy lives.

engaged 2009

a wedding in the northern desert

this was the first activity in a LONG time where all 5 of us siblings were together.

although we were missing casey and my brother weston's family, it still felt really special being together.

we laughed so much and it's incredible to sit back and realize we're all adults now (though at times we still act like children, especially around our parents), all married, all have similar mind sets yet different goals, dreams, and situations.

i do love my brothers so very much!

and then we added our sweet parents to the picture and my brother kirk said, "wow, we seem so small when it's just our family now."

how true that is, we used to be a little family of 7 and we're up to 20 with PLENTY of room to grow :)

but on to the wedding :)

it was beautiful.

my cousin did such a wonderful job planning every little detail even though she was in australia the whole time.

her husband is an australian who is a doctor over there, when she traveled around as a nurse she met him there and they've been dating for a long time since then!

so much of the wedding sat around the theme of traveling, aussie things, and vintage chicness
it was a dazzling day of marriage happiness!

i love any excuse to visit the beautiful red rocks in sedona, arizona surrounded by family i love

seriously so fun.

there was always some small group of people taking their pictures and being silly.

photobooths are just so fun.
1) casey and i pretended ruth was our baby all night, everyone believed me :)
2) i persuaded the brothers into doing one of our own. it was a hoot.
3) of course the cute new bride and groom.
4) weston flew solo for the weekend and had his own fun.

i also lugged the little polariod camera around during some of the wedding day.

some of my film is bad, but oh well.

it's still fun to have those pictures around, 

even if some of them don't turn out perfectly.

kirky got married

for the actual wedding day,

i'm stupid and pretty much took no pictures of whitney and kirk.

it was just annoying to have my camera on me and i didn't want to ask them to keep posing.

i'm crossing my fingers i'll get a hold of some beautiful ones from their photographer!

but whitney was completely gorgeous.

and kirk looked so happy all day long.

we loved every bit of the day.

and it was the most gorgeous day of weather ever.

i felt like we were waiting outside the temple forever for them to come out so i did take out my camera and snapped a few of the little ones.
they were so cute all day long.

after the temple kirk and whitney wanted IN-N-OUT for their first newlywed meal.

so we followed them to take pictures.

it was so cute watching them go in there.

everyone was just staring at them, it was darling.

and the man behind them kindly and graciously paid for their lunch!

 

we went back to the house for a bit,
visited with grandparents and aunts and uncles.
that's the best part about weddings: getting to be together as a family.
it truly was splendid.
we then went over to the pre-reception dinner and had the most wonderful bbq dinner.
whitney's parents actual have a side-bbqing business and boy was it incredible.
we seriously loved every bite!!

as the sun went down the little ones found the playset area.
the playset area had gorgeous  sun setting behind it so i snapped a few more pictures.

like casey mentioned a few days ago,
they had mini cupcakes that we GORGED ourselves on,
seriosuly, i'm embarrassed how many i ate, they were just so good!!

kirk and whitney had a spectacular came smash,
that's the only way to do it people,
SMASH THE CAKE!
they were so cute!

the 4 married siblings with a few of the in-laws went and decorated the car
(go mom for being prepared and actually bringing stuff...)
all i can say is that we had quite a bit of fun with it.

luckily our father did not have time to read everything window :)
points to be remembered:
1. as scott was writing "yay, kirk's not gay"
casey said, "gay has a silent h in it, scott"
scott now questioned his spelling
(spelling is not scott's best subject:)
2. weston wrote grom, not groom.
3. logan wrote beb not bed.

sparklers were lit and the two were whisked away in style in the Just Married car!
such a wonderful evening!

we were talking all night how this was the LAST woodruff wedding.
how crazy is that!?
the next wedding in the family will be a niece or nephew!
but we do have many cousin weddings to look forward to.
cough cough holman girls cough cough
crazy enough us siblings are 9 years apart and got married within 8 years.
I helped lots with those numbers.

let them eat cake

ok, so other than the fact that the origin of that phrase is horrid,

i do love cake :)

in fact we ate the top of our wedding cake last week!

and guess what? it was totally yummy still!!

crazy, huh? it was so yummy a year later, i really wish i remembered how yummy it was the day of!

remember how absolutely beautiful our cake was?

365 days later

and we still love each other
i know, precious :)

we celebrated our first family birthday yesterday

and loved it!

once i get through the craziness of today and tomorrow i'll have lots of stuff to share from last week!

 this was our family picture table, my mom's idea (stolen from amanda's wedding)
i loved it, it was pictures of all our siblings', parents', and grandparents' weddings just somewhere at the reception.
