Granny comes to town part 2

With Granny in town it was the perfect reason to have our cousins from an hour and a half away come by and visit. Any excuse to see family!
per usual Maxson's very cooperative picture pose
a. The second baby's reaction to not getting nursed first. They get so offended when they are left on the ground watching the other brother eat, it just makes me laugh so much
b. BQ

Children's museum with the Kelloggs.
Max really got into train making that day.

a. At the zoo (goes a long with the next section of pictures)
So yes, one day while my mo was here she took us to the Lincoln zoo! It is the perfect little zoo for little ones.

b. Max had NO FEAR when it came to touching the boa constrictor. He immediately went up and tried to touch its face, oh goodness.
The train ride around the zoo was definitely a hi-light of his life.
a. Camels and my favorite stroller.
b. Monkeys wh performed perfectly.

Made a warm baby pool out of the sled while Max played in the big colder pool. Of course he just ended up in the warm sled one too.
Because my wonderful mother was in town we got to got to the temple together up in Omaha! It had been months and I am SOOOOOO happy we got to go together! We even had enough time to get ice cream before hand, fist bump.

b. How to eat ice cream in the car without getting the car dirty

Winter quarters temple before and after our session. Beauty
On our final day together with my mom we ventured out to the Sunken Gardens in the rain. Again, absolutely beautiful. We love us some plants!

Max was excellent at jumping in the puddles.
Their fish pond is unreal with all the lily pads, fish, and gorgeous varieties of flowers.

The end of Granny's time in Nebraska. Thanks for coming, mom! Muah!

granny comes to town part 1

Seriously having my mom in town was the best thing ever. It literally felt like a vacation to me. I didn't wash a single bottle for a week and a half. I slept in almost everyday. My kids were still on their normal routines and sleeping arrangements. I barely did any dishes ( I did do a lot of cooking but I like the cooking aspect, and she doesn't mind the cleaning up aspect so we worked well together) I was able to go to the store and other fun activities with Max and friends pretty much whenever I wanted. She truly is an angel and I feel so lucky she'd come help and literally serve us for over a week. That woman never stopped working, I swear. All those things around my house like cleaning and organizing and repairing and fixing wise that in my mind I'd say I'd get to them sometime, she did them all. She's absolutely amazing. AND I had an extra set of hands to help with the kids, golden. Thank you, mom. You are the best woman ever.

Straight from the airport we headed to COSTCO! Oh how I love thee Costco, I so badly wish I lived closer to one (tear emoji). The babies became ravenous half way through Costco and we had to stop for a snack break. Love these little spoons to add to the squeeze pouches. Whenever Maxw ould get samples the babies would try to grab at it, he quickly learned to hold his food high above his head, it was super cute.
And a few people have asked how I get 3 to sit in one cart: Max gets the middle two leg holes, the babies outside foot each gets one and their inside foot closest to Max is bent up on the bench. Works like a charm. Still crazy to me I have 3 small children.

One day we took my mom over to a dairy farm nearby for a tour. Last year we went to their actual Prairyland Dairy Days, this year they so very sadly cancelled the event. I was super bummed to hear that because it is so much fun. We took a tour with a local little moms grip my friend invited me to. Max was Max, running everywhere and not that interested in what was going down. At the end I wondered if it was even worth going. I know it was, but it's still a lot of work.
5 day old baby cow.

My friend's little girl was the flipping BOMB and put an iron clasping fist on Maxson's hand at one point so he wouldn't run away. She was the best.
Inside the milking area.

Went on a walk to East Campus where Max rode his bike around everywhere like a champ. He a rockstar on that thing. I am a full supporter of Strider bikes, if you've contemplated them FOR SURE get them over a regular bike with training wheels!
Insisted he wear his backpack so then he looked all old a mature like he was legitimately going to school.

The hydrangeas on campus are beautiful!

Little things in June part 2

Bryson's rolling and scooting backwards would get him stuck under the dresser all the time, he'd get so mad but it was so funny to come around the corner and find him like such.
Yay for new garage sale find!
Making baby food for the masses! I layered a bunch of peeled sweet potatoes under these carrots and threw them each into the blender after a few hours. I've done the same with a bunch of other fruits and veggies. Try it
a. Sleeping babies
b. Chowing down on delicious banana bread (recipe from melskitchencafe my #1 go to place to make food!)
As of lately Maxson steals my sandwich making baggies to pile cars in like bags of goldfishes from the carnival. There are probably worse things in life...
When babies wake up at 5:30 am it's just TOO DANG EARLY CHILDREN!
Rave in the bath tub
"noddy"he says. see pen on legs for example.
The new Honest Abe's building! So. much. bigger. so. much. better.
With my mom in town she graciously let us escape on a little lunch date to devour the yummiest burgers around.
NUMMY.
My first trip to Walmart since the babies have been born! Over 8 months. It was a huge trip gathering not only food and stocking up on pantry staples but also small household goods. I was there for 2 hours! Granted, I lazily wandered the aisles without children which was I daresay relaxing.
After 2 hours I came out to a most beautiful ombre sunset
Bryson is FINALLY on the move! He's on the right in this picture and started over by the couch/wipes pouch.

Cricket, cricket.

Still there? We're technically here but not really, we are gone and on the go for the rest of the summer!

As of this week: Christensen family reunion!

Man I sure married into such a wonderful solid family and am so grateful. Our kids have the most wonderful family history from both my side and their father's side. We are so richly blessed when it comes to family!
ALSO, we survived Lagoon. Holy monkey, it was tiring but Max had a blast, he's a stinking thrill seeker/junkie. It was a blast with the family. There is a reason you see large families is bright shirts, it's like A BILLION times easier to find each other. Eye popping yellow or purple for the win.

More to come soon!
