a new year

this sums up our new year's eve:
Photobucket
ha, when baby goes to bed, mama goes to bed.
poor baby boy woke up monday morning with a stuffy nose.
stuffy nosed babies=saddest/most sympathetic parents ever.
my heart aches every time i hear that stuffy nose breathe.

new year's eve day/evening was celebrated with family.
my brother, SILs, and their kids were here for a lot of the day just playing.
my aunt and uncle joined us for a large family dinner which felt so right.

the evening ended with watching the new bourne movie,
although with a baby you only actually watch 1/3-1/2 of it.
most the time you're asking "so wait, what's going on?"
but i like it that way.
max was able to finally fall asleep at 10:30, I followed at 11, and casey came in for a new year's kiss at 11:15.
sounds like my kind of new year's eve :)

***

2012 treated us very well.

the anticipation of a baby boy joining our family and finally having him come tops the list.
max was our most favorite part of 2012 :)

we finished up our first provo bucket list.

we graduated from byu.

we moved to and worked in new jersey for the summer.

we moved to nebraska where casey started dental school.

as i've reflected over the year these past weeks being with family and enjoying the first month of motherhood i can truly say that we've been incredibly blessed this year.

we're incredibly looking forward to enjoying maxson's first year and all the joy that will bring.
we welcome 2013 with much excitement!

looking back

sometimes i look back at our blog and fall in love with life we had last year, 2, and 3 years ago.
tonight i randomly looked through the labels christmas and wyoming.
all those pictures made me so happy.
(and i remembered we're going to add a stocking to our family this year!!!!!!)

do you ever go back and look at your blog?

last weekend when we were watching the BYU football game (we thank our lucky stars their games are all broadcast on espn now) the espn-byu commercial came on.
every time we see it come on, we get really sad because we miss it so much!
casey especially was saying how much he missed it.
he said something like "i didn't have enough fun there, all i did was go to school and work..."
i couldn't think of any of the fun crazy things off the top of my head that we did except i knew we made an effort to do fun stuff...but what was that?
so i hopped on the blog and looked up the labels provo bucket list and byu (i should have labeled so many more things byu...).
granted it wasn't all the fun stuff we did but it was a good chunk.
reading through the posts made us so happy with our time at byu (and more nostalgic) but it did remind us that we had fun!

i love blogging.
i love that i can (quickly) write down memories with pictures.
i love being able to look back at life.
i love seeing how we've changed and grown as a couple.
i love that i have all our married years documented on this blog.
i love that soon this blog will show our  journey from 2 to 3.
i love our blog.

Good ol' Aspen Grove

tonight i worked in the kitchen at AG again.
i loved it.
and working with one of my most favorite people, a miss dyer, made it all the better
it's fun to get back into the groove of things and not miss a beat.
it's also great to work with other people who know exactly what to do too.
every time i work there i just reminisce of summer times
i loved it (90% of the time:).
here are some of the memories:

  • cutting up 150 pounds of mashed potatoes all the time
  • katie using salt instead of sugar for the 7 huge breakfast cakes...gross
  • gutting fish...super gross...i really could never do it by the end of the summer, the nasty feel just freaked me out, bleh
  • ingrid's funny stories of marijuana farming in canada
  • annalise complaining every 5 minutes about whatever task she was doing
  • bacon. death to bacon and death to when we had to inch them
  • rolling all 770 rolls without the a/c on bc they "raised" better and didn't dry out (lies julie, lies)
  • julie giving annalise dirty  looks
  • flour fights (below)
  • the horrible day we had to slice all the ham for sunday breakfast. WASTE OF MY TIME
  • listening to many of the same summer songs over and over (aka dish room and kelly clarkson songs)
  • pizza making with ingrid
  • arguing over who got to cut pizzas (easy/fun job except if you get burnt, that equals no fun)
  • emptying the nasty water crap under the bbq and spilling it all over me and stinking
  • bbqing hot dogs and burgers on wednesdays with a hat and sunglasses and walking into the freezer when it got too hot
  • LTOP's blehhhhhh
  • annalise burning the alfredo sauce bahaha
  • taste testing everything with spoons and giving our opinions
  • lindsay's attitude woman vioce (that i have now obtained)
  • pancake/french toast flipping mornings
  • always getting in trouble by greg for washing the potatoes when making roasted reds
  • annalise making nasty nasty looking grilled cheese
  • death of chicken nuggets and dang quesadillas to adults and children
  • plating pies
  • death thursday night dinners and always trying to get out of them
  • early morning walks to the kitchen and watching the sun turn the mountain gold
  • having my hand hurt from cutting so much meat.
  • lindsay and annalise always getting to make saturday cookies and i always did the dumb salad
  • scotty bff
  • california trip
  • andy being a brat to Jim
  • Glenn's predictable jokes at camp opener
  • the corndog song
  • shea and amy's amazing song
  • christmas in july
  • 4th of july
  • burning tanning with annalise
  • provo trips
  • the swing/bench and hammock outside snowshoe that anyone who was dating had to sit on for hours with each other
  • kimberobics :)
  • kimberobics in the smelly baby rooms
  • watching the bachelorette with the huge group of girls on the little laptop
  • watching here come the newlyweds
  • watching long bbc movies enforced on us by annalise
  • working, playing, and living with all the same fun people that you love
  • missing the one person all summer that i loved the most
  • lover coming to AG in the summer to visit: best. day. of. the. summer. ever.

there's so many more good memories
wish i could remember them all :)
