Our Love Story. Chapter 1- The Intro

Having recently passed our 5th anniversary it got me doing a lot of reflecting, looking back at pictures, reading old journals, watching that wedding video, just thinking back over our past, our love story!

In the coming months I want to do various installments of our love story: how we met, dating, break up, dating again, engagement, etc because now I have so much time in my life ;)

The above photo was from our first date, our first date was actually a little marathon weekend date (neither of us knew those kind of dates could actually be totally awful for some people, ours turned out awesome). The date consisted of the Utah State vs BYU football game Friday night up in Logan and the next morning we went to conference together in Salt Lake City. He posted this photo on Facebook soon after our date and I remember just staring at this photo CONSTANTLY just trying my hardest to memorize this cute boy's face for probably hours on end. I think I could have literally burnt a hole in my computer screen (btw I was the only freshman n my whole floor to bring a desktop computer to college, ha! I survived).

let's go way back in time,

october 2008 back in time.

it was casey and myself's first date.

we were going to the byu v utah st football game up in logan.

i swear, just the week before a friend on my freshman floor, stacey,

brought up the conversation of jean shorts aka jorts,

and how no boy should ever wear these,

that they were the ugliest thing ever,

that no one in their right mind would buy/wear them these days,

only weirdos wore them.

i fully believed her.

i soaked in all her words.

i was like "yeah, they are ugly. what are these boys thinking?'

well you guessed it, casey wore JORTS on our first date!

gasp!

luckily, i was able to look beyond the jorts and easily forgave him. 

we're sitting here talking about them and casey thinks that when we were engaged i told him they were yucky and he should never again wear them.

wow, am i a rude person or what?!

but what can i say? i didn't like 'em? ha. 

well, i've been working on a project and those shorts were i the pile.

i held them up and we laughed.

casey says he still likes 'em.

i still don't like them so much.

other kinds, maybe...

those ones definitely not.

but i just cut them up so he can never wear them again :)

moon lift ride.

this last week we drove up to sundance to go on their moon lift ride.

twas fun as usual.

out of our 4 years, here at BYU this was our third time going.

this moon lift ride was actually mine and casey's 2nd date together, crazy enough!

so there's a special place for it in our heart, ha.

this year we met up with my dear friend, brooke, and her dear, dear friend, chrisitian.

it's always fun to get together with other couples and we truly had a wonderful time.

they had us laughing the whole time.

it was cold as usual,

but we were kind of prepared this time luckily.

we listened to the same music we did on our first date up there, presh, i know.

we laughed about the silliest of things.

we talked about how this was our last year here in provo.

we talked about numerous stories of us dating,

and funny moments we had dating.

it's so funny to look back at it all, goodness!

1 YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to state that it has been officially over a year since Kimber and I went on our first date. It started with BYU football and conference. It was so wonderful to be able to go to conference yet again with my sweet Kimber. It has become quite the tradition and I don't know what we will do once my Dad can't get the tickets anymore. Haha I guess we will see what happens when that comes around. But we loved Conference and there were so many talks that touched our hearts. Life is great and we only have a month and a half til we get MARRIED!!!!! Yay! Not only are we so close to being husband and wife, but we have had a lot of fun activities with family and each other. We went to Kimber's opening dance social, where we ate dinner and played some games. My favorite part had to be the food, but also, this little picture because I am totally dressed up like a sailor and I think that it is hilarious with my outfit! Something I am so grateful for is that Kimber is so wonderful in making dinner for us most nights. It is so nice to have home cooked meals! She is just so wonderful and we love the time being able to eat and talk at the end of each day.
