oh my heck!

can you believe january is gone and february has come?!?!

we were walking to school yesterday, and were gawking over the fact that we've FINISHED 1 month of our last semester already!

wowza.

this is my last ode to january 2012 in provo, ut.

(cue 1 tear trickling down face).

1. 1st ski trips of the season: some awesome days (remarkably with what little snow there is) and some terrible ones (not surprisingly, again, cue large goose egg bruise on both knees from sheets of pebbled ice)
2. finished my 1st project in sewing class: pajama pants!! (mom, aren't you proud!?). sewing class is awesome.
3. lots of toast with butter, sliced avocado, all sprinkled with a little salt: yummo.
4. the first time we ever cooked salmon

5. Meli dog. you only feed my need of wanting my own dog. thanks for being the best dog ever. don't ever die.
6. seeing tristan, lots. love that cute boy.

7. cousin/friend get together at Suz's.
8. mission friend get together where we all were laughing for hours straight. great group of boys, and a great group of girls those guys picked
(tim and kelly, yay for moving back to utah!
andy and kylie, flipping funny stories.
brock and emily, you two are perfect, get married, k?).
usually when you get together with other couples it's bc the wife thinks they would be a fun couple and the husband agrees.
usually the wives end up being great friends and easy to talk to and sometimes the husbands just don't mesh.
where in this situation, the guys brought everyone together and had all these happy memories with one another, and the girls just fit (like most girls always do).
twas great.
8 peeps around our small table is THE MAX, but it works!

9. little snow.
10. tons of cheap blueberries. ate those suckers like candy
11. watching debates, lots of them, GO MITT!!!!!
12. relief society super saturday which included a crepe class from the awful waffle woman herself!

this is my 2nd year i've made our "family photo albums" from MyPublisher and am so happy with the result!

the quality is absolutely wonderful.

i love the layouts and options.

i really do just love it all!

at the beginning of each year they have this smokin' deal for their 100 page photo albums,

i put mine together pretty quick (blogging about your life and making collages before for those posts made it a zip).

we were so excited to get it.

we sat down and flipped through the pages reminiscing over the past year's events:

oh, that was so fun!

oh my gosh, remember when you did that?!

i loved that trip.

i love that picture.

oh, i miss them.

i don't do writing in the books,
i may go back and add in my own cute stickies/notes and stuff about events later,
but for now, i like the crispness of the photos on white.

last october we bought out tickets to go see BRIAN REGAN in january!

that date in january has finally come and we had such and incredible time!!!

the journey to the concert was, stressful, to say the least.

teeth were bared, a few tears were shed, but we FINALLY found a parking spot.

parking downtown slc (when you have 10 minutes til your event) is terrible.

BUT, we made it, with time to spare!

we were beyond excited to be there.

joe bolster opened for brian regan and was indeed hilarious,

but once brian regan came on the stage our smiles were ear to ear for the next hour and a half.

it was just the best.

he is so funny,

his material is everday funny stuff that he exaggerates and it's SO TRUE!

for our future benefit and laughing fit.

Casey Post #4 BYU VS ST MARY'S

BYU Vs. ST MARY's: This game had to be the worst officiated game I have ever seen in history, even worse than some of my high school games when we played on the road in freezing Wyoming. I wouldn’t say BYU played amazing, they played pretty bad too, but I believe the Refs never allowed them to sustain anything throughout the game. This statement about the game was hilarious because it was so true, "it's not easy to make 22,000 mormons upset, but that's what happened tonight."-KSLradio. They have it spot on I mean when 22,000 LDS people start throwing things onto the floor multiple times that caused a technical foul to be called on BYU form their fans; the game has to be pretty bad. My dad came up for the event and I hope he enjoyed at least the food, we went out to Costa Vida and then the three of us went to the game. Dad stayed the night and attended church with us the next morning and I think it was the first time he had been to church here, and I think it brought him back to his younger years will all the couples holding hands and just showing PDA in church. We had a great weekend and I am glad my dad came because it is always fun to have family around.

there are actually FIVE sister in laws pregnant!!!!

all due about the same time crazy enough!

4. we bought ourselves bowling shoes for our anniversary. yayyyyyyy.

did you know i love chocolate chip cookies?

i LOVE chocolate chip cookies.

if i could only have one dessert the rest of myself, it'd be chocolate chip cookies.

i don't make them very often anymore because i totally gorge myself on them.

literally, i make myself sick because i eat so many.

but anywho, here's some of my basic tips and tricks for cookies!

my long time go-to recipe has been the nestle toll house recipe.

always stellar.

(i do often add just a little bit more flour than what it calls for, maybe an 1/8th of a cup for 1 batch).

when ever it says butter, always use crisco, the yellow baking crisco.

it makes all the difference.

semi-sweet is the popular choice for cookies.

but, milk chocolate chips are EVEN BETTER.

try it.

lately i've been using cookie recipes that use vanilla pudding powder as an ingredient.

super yummy!

again, try it.

last sunday we made 2 new cookie recipes.

1. paradise bakery copycat.

and 2. "best-ever" chewy chocolate chip cookie

here's my verdict:

1. pretty normal. nothing overly amazing about it. i had to add like 1/3-1/2 c more flour to make it more fluffy and once i did that it was much better.

i'd make this recipe again but not next time.

2. surprise ingredient: cornstarch. turned out incredibly yummy, i'd say. fluffy and chewy. very much enjoyed. we liked this one so much and will for sure be trying this one again!

Casey Post #3 What would Tazz do?

So it was a nice week not having to go to school on Monday because of Martin Luther King Day. I don’t know how I am making it through this last semester because honestly I am ready for my undergrad to be over. Alright, so Kimber told me to talk about one thing so I will tell you about a funny saying that I came up with as a rebuttal to any of her trying to make me think she is right; and yes she is always right. So whenever I do something she doesn’t like or a difference that she has with something I like to do AKA: Videogames, Fantasy Sports, etc… there is always a reference to what would Jesus do coming from her. Yes, I know I know Jesus probably wouldn’t have played video games and he may have only saw a play of the Super bowl, but I could never find a rebuttal for this statement. We were in Arizona last weekend and Kimber’s parents have a dog named Tazz, she is a quite interesting dog that always just loves to whine at the back door until you let her in. She wont even fetch her ball anymore when the back door is open she thinks she is going to get locked out, it is a horrible game. You know sometimes a little annoying kinda stinky so you don’t want to pet her a whole lot, and so I got the bright idea to tell Kimber, well what would Tazz do? I think Tazz could care less, but to whack your face with her massive tail, eat anything in her path, and just want to be inside, when she is an outside dog. This phrase will always make us laugh and especially when I hear that phrase What would Jesus do? I will always think of What will Tazz do? Isn’t this rebuttal the best, c’mon, Tazz is almost like a little child innocent, carefree, really doesn’t as long as she receives a can of anything she can gobble up. I think it is pretty great!

ps- we're really not home that much,
so because we're not home much at all, we don't really turn on our heater, as crazy as it sounds.
but the other nights we were home all night, twas wonderful.
so we ~~brought out the wine and fancy dishes and~~ turned that heater on!
do you how good it feels to get into bed and see the temperature is 65 degrees in your room and not 55!

so last week, abby came over and we played.

we had a grand old time too.

she just cracks us up.

when she was over, we went to the duck pond.

yayyyyy.

it was so fun watching her and those ducks.

she loved chasing them and was just so carefree.

i wish i could just bottle up that energy she has and use it for myself ~~at the gym~~.

we got to go back to az for another beautiful wedding in arizona!

my dearest, most beautiful, friend courtney got herself married the judson the judge!

so happy we got to be there for the weekend.

first of all,

i love my friends.

they freaking rock, really.

some people don't always have the best feelings of their jr high/high school years,

but i?

I LOVED MY JR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL YEARS.

yes, people, even jr high.

why?

because i seriously had the best group of friends ever.

such a strong, great group of kids, we honestly had the best time together .

and even though i didn't get to go to the same high school as these kids, they included me in everything.

they were the best.

sometimes i feel like i went to mesa high too

but i'm glad i didn't bc i found some other seriously awesome ones at red mountain that i'd have never given up :)

we've now gotten to the point where nearly all our guy friends from high school are home from missions,

this was really the first time i've seen a lot of them!

but the weekend was great, courntey's wedding went perfectly and was simply beautiful!

these 2 boys, mitchell and kelly, were a freaking crack up the whole weekend. missed these 2 so much.
they were "bridesman" and filled their roles perfectly.
they're the best paparazzi ever.
and kelly is gonna be working with us this summer, woot woot!

2nd week class post; ARIZONA

For week 2 of my little class blog, I think I will talkabout our little trip to Arizona that we are taking late this evening. I ampretty excited to start listening to the last Eragon book, Inheritance. I hearit is pretty good, but may surprise us at the ending. No matter it is fun totake these road trips with my sweetheart. She really wants to help out driving,but ends up sleeping most of the way anyways. We are excited to attend awedding of one of our good friends. Also, We love spending time with our littlenieces down there, and cherish every moment of Bahama Bucks we can ingest. Iwill someday own a franchise of that Heavenly place. I know a Dentist owning asnow cone shop?! It doesn’t make sense does it? I love any opportunity to spendwith family, and it will be in the heat instead of the cold.

For my last semester I am taking an English class that requires me to make a blog post every week of at least 150 words, and with this being such a blessed week I decided I would post about some things I am grateful for. The first and foremost of importance is my wife, Kimber. She has always been a supportive spouse with all the optimism in the world. She is a wonderful woman and I am glad to call her my own. I am grateful that I have been accepted to dental school, and that the Lord has provided a way for us to go to Nebraska and spend the next 4 years of our lives. I know that that is where we are supposed to be and that we will be touched and will be able to touch the lives of others. I am excited and am grateful for the endeavors we will experience in our future. I am grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ and that he is our Savior. I am grateful that we have living prophets, the scriptures, and that we live in America.

We are thrilled to announce that

Casey has been accepted to the University of Nebraska's Dental School!

He will be part of the graduating class of 2016!

i don't think this day could be any better!

this morning, Monday, January 4, 2012 at 10 am,

Casey received a phone call from an unknown number.

he answered, and realized it was Glenda.

Glenda works with the admissions committee and students applying for dental school, she's the median for the two.

as soon as he realized it was her, he knew there was only one reason she'd call: an acceptance to the school.

a little background: the school accepts 4 "WyDent" applicants a year, this means the tuition for these 4 students is a little different than normal, better than normal.

these 4 students are accepted Dec 1 and pretty much never ever say no.

so once Dec 1st passed, we both concluded that we'd put Nebraska to the side, and start hoping for the other schools.

when she called this morning, her words were "this hasn't happened in years, but the committee got together again, your name was discussed and they gave me the go ahead to send you an acceptance letter for dental school!"

like i said, best phone call of our lives.

casey tried calling me but i didn't answer ( i was at home, in bed still, debating on going to a class i was debating on dropping).

my attitude and mood were just blah, not good, not bad, just blah.

i looked at my phone around 10:15,

saw 3 missed calls from casey, and 2 texts from him.

one said "i took the keys, hope you don't need the car to go anywhere" and "CALL ME!!!!!"

i thought nothing of the 2nd text,

I actually thought he wanted me to call him so he could remind me to bring him lunch today...haha.

i called him back, he explained Glenda from Nebraska called, and they've accepted him!

at first i was completely shocked, just stunned, no emotion other than surprised really.

then i started crying, bawling to be exact, knowing this only happened bc it's the Lord's will.

after i got off the phone with him, i was then elated and completely ecstatic as i realized we were going to dental school this year! we are actually going!

then suddenly i was scared, nebraska=cold, windy, flat, no family/friends, and 3 years of wyoming to come after dental school...

i quickly got over scared and just started crying again,

tears of joy.

after casey took all the tests, turned in the applications, and had the interviews, we knew it was all in the Lord's hands.

there was nothing more we could do other than depend on the Lord and have faith in him.

the last few months, i've thought of the saying that we need not fear things, but have faith in them.

we've had no idea what we were really going to do with our lives once graduating from BYU other than dental school.

we thought well what if we don't get in... and at that moment, we'd say to each other, well, we just need to have faith in the Lord, that whatever happens, happens because that's the Lord's plan.

as soon as i got off the phone, i prayed.

i prayed in earnest thanksgiving.

our prayers of the past year had been answered.

that was the only thing i could do: pray.

so proud of casey and his hard work!

we are excited to be 2 of the newest corn husker fans in the fall!
and excited to know what exactly we're going to be doing with our lives after BYU!

i am also excited to now be able to justify my future purchases of flannel sheets and more cute boots!

a HUGE thank you to casey's brother, cody, a current dental student in indiana, who coached him through nearly every step of the process, you gave him tips and pointers at each step.
to our parents, they were so kind and always optimistic through all these months,
and lastly, amanda, thank you for helping improve casey's essay a MILLION fold.

i decided we should institute the crazy cutler games for when we all get together at the holidays!

the cutler family has got some serious craziness going on and i wanted to harness it.

everyone was so willing to play and the competition was on!

we played a series of games vs each other and it was a hoot the whole time!

i conducted the event and played the video for each challenge before they began.

we played a bit dicey.

object: balance 5 dice on a popsicle stick that is held in your mouth

tayli and nan/mom rocked it.

object: transfer cotton balls from one bowl to the other using only your nose which you can dip into vaseline.

hello 2012!!!!

christmas in arizona part dos.

on to christmas eve and christmas!

a friend tipped me off that bahama bucks had a groupon going on a few months ago,

so we picked up a party pack for half price and brought it home.

it was beyond awesome, we got to share the bahama bucks wonderfulness with the whole family for christmas.

flavors chosen were cotton candy (the favorite), blue raspberry, and a new found favorite, kiwi.

we of course had to get the cream to go along.

and now, as we're here in wyoming, casey has some left over syrup and has been making snow cones with the WY snow! ha

we've had an annual silly string fight with our neighbors for over 10 years now!

it actually only happens every other year now due to us being at our in-laws

but every year we've gone to their house and surprised them.

this year, they tricked/surprised us and came to our turf for the first time and on christmas eve!

ha, what an awesome silly string fight we had this year!!!

we now understand the feeling of being in your house, and suddenly being vulnerable and under attack without our silly string being ready!

ha!

when we were younger, our neighbors, the walkers, would light off flares so santa knew where we were!

we revived the tradition this year and lit our own flares christmas eve so santa knew where we were!

it was so special to us all!

we exchanged sibling gifts that night as well (some were loveingly and cutely handmade!).

my sweet mother also set up our very favorite holiday game, again, for us.

we call it, the credit card game!

she buys 2 gift cards to restaurants, wraps them in a billion layers of wrapping paper, tape, and duct tape,

we then roll dice and hope to get doubles.

if you do get doubles, you put on the gardening gloves and try ripping that baby open!

but as soon as someone else rolls a double, your turn is up, no matter how long you've had the chance to open it and the other person rips those gloves away from you!

such a hoot every year.

it's actually just super savage and that's why we love it so much :)

christmas day was wonderful.

we had german pancakes,

opened presents,

napped,

went to church,

and celebrated the birth of our lord and savior, jesus christ.

that night we talked about a bunch of the background research done about the savior's birth,

information we all may have not known which was so special.

i love christmas because it is that one time of year the world gathers to reflect on the savior and then our families.

christmas in arizona part uno

like i said, christmas in arizona was a blast.

all 5 siblings gathered for almost a week together.

the 4 little kiddies added to fun 100 times over.

i'm so glad they're around now!

and next year, there will be 3 new ones added, wahoo!

we got to spend a lot of time playing outside:

parks, running, bike rides, backyard fun, etc.

it was just so lovely to be able to play outside and not have your face freezing!

driving around with the windows down reminded me how much i love summer.

summer is my favorite.

but back to christmas :)

oh how i love those salmon tacos.

oh and i've decided watching phoebe eat spaghetti may be one of my all time favorite aunt moments of all time.

eating is her verb, it's what she does.

other days leading up to christmas we took family pictures and went and saw the movie mission impossible 4,

loved it, such a great movie!
my other wish was to watch as many christmas movies the week before christmas as possible.
because of the business of finals and such, we hadn't watched a single one all of decemeber!
we were able to watch the nativity story, home alone, and polar express.
we didn't hit all the ones i wanted to, but 3 were better than none!

story time.

a little background

we started dating my freshman year.

the only rule my parents gave me when i went to college was don't date return missionaries.

return missionaries are only looking for marriage and my parents weren't wanting me to get married anytime soon...

so we "dated" 2 months (i didn't consider it dating though casey did).

then we were off 2 months.

we were on 2 months.

then he propsed.

then we were engaged for 8 months.

and now we've been married for 2 years!

so during those 2 months of "offness",

we kept in contact.

a little mingling here and there, ya know, couldn't cut ties all together.

well, once finals were over i was driving with a friend to the airport to go home for christmas.

in a snow storm.

and as arizona girls, we're not that hip on driving in the snow.

as fate would have it, we hit some old big block of ice/snow and got a flat tire.

once we pulled off the freeway and checked the tire,

we began calling people who could help.

she called her boyfriend, no answer.

i called both my brothers, no answer.

she called her cousins, no answer.

so i did all i could think was left.

i called the boy who i told i didn't want to date anymore: casey.

he answered,

after 2 rings.

and was there to save us,

within 15 minutes.

he saw the condition of the tire,

knew we were in a rush to get to the ariport,

during a snowstorm,

so insisted that he drive us to the airport.

this is finals week, mind you.

who does that?

seriously?

come to the aid of a a girl who decided she just wasn't that into you at the moment?

ha, oh goodness, i know i was just pulling him in closer,

but he was so nice!!!

my family couldn't believe i asked him to do such a thing,

such a tease!

and poor casey, as he later tells it: you were just egging me on more and more, i was so confused!

that's our pre-marriage christmas story that will be in the vaults forever.

done with school.

utah teased us with alight dusting of snow last week (which was beautiful and completely welcomed)
i wore sweat pants everyday and may or may not have worn the exact same outfit two days in a row...
and then of course, the glorious tesing center/jsb lines

cody and camille came all the way down to provo from indiana just to see us!

well...kinda. there may have been some other people involved in the whole familytoseeinthewest ordeal...

our excitement to see jaden was like a kid on christmas morning.

WE COULD NOT WAIT TO SEE THAT KID.

he's gotten so big since 4 months ago when we last saw him!

he was obsessed with casey and wanted nothing to do with me.

i'm used to it, kids are obsessed with casey...as am i.

we went over to the grandparents for dinner, chatting, and GAMES.

games up the wazoo.

even the grandparents stayed up til 1 am with us playing games, ha!

oh, and when we left their house that night, 19 degrees!!!

blah! we couldn't have been more excited to be in AZ the following day!

mom sent up about a bajillion lemons with my brother to me.

i kid you not, a full bajillion.

i finally made time to do something with all them lemons.

lemonade.

my wonderful friend had a juicer so i juiced away!

the perfect lemonade is equal parts sugar and lemon juice, and twice as much water.

this semester has been a little brutal in terms of finals for us.

we're surviving.

casey is in a final as i'm writing this.

we both have one hard one left, waiting for us in that terrible testing center.

mmeh.

we're working a ton this week but are lucky enough to get to study while we work.

but with work comes not so fun working times til 2 am.

(i signed up for these stupid times for some reason...)

we didn't work last night and i didn't have stuff this morning so you know what happened?

i fell asleep on the couch at about 9 pm and awoke at 9 am...and kept sleeping til 11.

oh my gosh, i'm lazy, i know! i've never slept so long.

it was exactly what was needed though.

i've had 3 days in a row of 7 am/8 am finals and in between all those went to bed anywhere between 12:30 and 3.

i've never been so happy that next semester is my last!

but onto little fun things that have been going on lately.
1) finsihed our bowling class with the best bowling day ever of 4 high scores in a row!
never done that before!
2) christmas pancakes last saturday. we put egg nog in place of the milk/buttermilk...sadly you couldn't taste a difference...
3) we made sugar cookes on the reading days.
4) abby girl came over and played with us this week :) she is so HILARIOUS!

it we got to play with abby the night before she turned a WOPPING 2 years old!
love that girl!

yay for christmas trees!

i love turning the lights on that baby and watching it glow.

we try to leave them on as much as possible (especially at night),

so you can see it shining in our window from the street.

itt is a glorious sight if i do say so myself :)

this plastic baby was a wedding present actually, fun gift, huh?

i'll admit, fake does have some benefits...

but i grew up with a real tree and we hope to buy real trees after BYU.

for now, this is our tree and we love it.

when it comes to decorations we abide by these rules:

more is more.

old, new, glittery, dull, we like them all!

pretty much our theme is whatever is on hand is gonna go on that there darn tree.

and you know what else i love about putting up decorations?
there's tons of new ones i forgot i bought at the end of last season!
so it's like a pre-christmas present to myself each year!!!

did i tell you our chirstmas decorations are up?

instead of writing a 3 page, single spaced paper, we hung up our christmas decorations the night we got back from thanksgiving,

(all of aunt malinda's decorations in montana got me oober excited)

more to come on our decorating the tree :)

we've also been cutting out lots of snowfalkes for fun.

like, legit ones.

some patterns are from the internet, some were created with our very own T.L.C.

we've also consumed approximately 2028910832037 gallons of hot chocolate this season and not sick of it one bit.

the landscape management club had a little service project last weekend:

raking up leaves and pruning bushes/trees for the (old people) community in provo.

it was freezing, but we sure had fun together.

the best part was getting to knock on their doors and tell them we were going to clean up their yard for them, FOR FREE!

it was the best activity we've had all year long, we were all together, happy, and serving others in need.

in other news,
it's the last week of school,
2 fist pumps for us!
and then we have one week of finals and we will be arizona bound!

provo utah bucket list: slc temple lights (with cousin dinner)

sunday, we also crossed another item off the list!

the salt lake temple square lights!

we actually had a cousin dinner in SLC that night so it turned out perfectly!

firstly, this cousin dinner:

SO FUN.

oh goodness, i love being with family,

it is always such a blast!

everyone in the utah valley was able to come accept for 1 family (they were sick),

plus the dinner just happened to be planned on a weekend our cousin and her family from tennessee was in town!

all together, i believe there were 18 adults, 17 children, and 1 baby on the way!

it was so fun being together and watching all the cute little ones just running around and playing.

i love family.

my cousin, suzie, also instigated a few games for us all to play which was a hoot, as always.

catch phrase and werewolves.

it was perfect for our size of group and with all the kids in the middle playing and making their own noise.

after the get together,

casey and i headed over to the temple to see the lights.

we were a little worried it'd be terribly busy due to it being a sunday night and after the christmas devotional,

but to our surprise, it was nearly empty!

seriously, there was nearly no one there,

it was perfect and beautiful, (and super cold)

the only other time i've been to the lights was my freshman year with our ward where we were hurried and it was terribly busy,

so this was a much better experience!

provo utah bucket list: sammy's burgers and BYU planetarium

yet again, we have crossed off TWO more bucket list items!

we had quite the eventful night last saturday!

1st on the list: sammy's burgers.

it's a small burger shop in provo at about center and 100 west near the marriot hotel.

we've driven by it plenty of times and said to ourselves: "we need to go there!"

they're have also been plenty of people rave how incredible the pieshakes and burgers are.

off we went and brought scott, megan and tristan in tow.

let me tell ya, that place is as yummy as it is cracked up to be:

huge, delicious burgers,

the yummiest fried ever,

and such an awesome vibe.

we had to skip out on the shakes because we were so full from the burgers and fries,
so we will undoubtedly be back again soon for more.

i can't remember what casey got,
but i ate the aussie burger: fried pineapple, grilled egg, with all the other normal stuff.
loved it.
another tip: get the battered fries: ooooober yummy.

apparently casey and i both got a little picture crazy at this place,
it just had so much fun character for such a small place!

after dinner we drove like speed demons up to campus and literally RAN to the eyring science center for the planetarium show!
we had heard the first night in december was the special "star of bethlehem show" and were excited.
our excitedness quickly disappeared as we began to fall asleep during a LECTURE!
yes, that's all it was, a lecture!!!
i'll admit, it wa kinda cool listening to the professor reason through what could have possibly caused the bright star in the sky...
after the show, we learned that this indeed was a "special" show, it was the only lecture show,
jeeze.
we'll be going back again next semester for a legit, cool star show indeed with all the affects and stuff

after the show ended we walked over to the JSB and began waiting in line for divine comedy,
yes, we love divine comedy.
they never disappoint and are SO CLEVER!
at the end of each show, our mouth always hurts from laughing smiling so much!

we were lucky to have met up with 2 other couples there too.

and there was our friday night!

provo utah bucket list: provo bakery

we passed off antoher bucket list item!

going on over to the infamous provo bakery,

we've heard people rave over it, but we've never actually gone, gasp!

as i turned the corner to see our front door, i saw casey in the process of bringing my new bike into the house!

woot woot! we actually got a bike and another big something while in montana (no taxes, yeahya!) and luckily casey's grandparent's were in montana with us and would be driving back down to utah with their mini van, yay :)

as i walked up, joy spread through my whole body and now i knew what little kids felt like at christmas!

i threw by backpack and coat in the door and started riding that baby around!!!

casey hopped on his and we just decided to ride down the street.

the closer we got to center i thought, "hey let's go to the provo bakery, we're right here!"

so, we found it and just stopped!

we got ourselves a HUGE, christmasey, sprinkle one to split,

and enjoyed it in the cold outside sitting at the bus stop (the bus stopped for us, ha).

we will most definietly be going there again soon!

that doughnut was so perfect :)

i think i'm going to get rid of this cute bike that i'm in love with :(

i just think i'd really like one that changes speeds...

we'll see what happens!

thanksgiving recap.

we had the most wonderful thanksgiving in montana with some of casey's family,

it was seriously so much fun!

the food was completely wonderful,

we had 4 cooks in the kitchen, which was so nice,

and we all ate til we had stomach aches, it was a love-hate relationship.

but the leftovers were so wonderful for the next 3 days.

oh yummmmmm.

catherine, got cute leaves all ready and we all wrote what we were thankful for on them, hung them on the fire place, then our wonderful reader, kyle, read them aloud to us all and we guessed who it was.

so cute and so fun!

one night we went to a little skating place and had a ball with each other!

even grandpa, nearly 80 years old, got out there on roller skates and skated around with us,

what a hoot!

helping the little kids around the rink made it that much more fun too!

it was such a fun thanksgiving with so many little ones around,

i'm so happy that that's what all our future family gatherings will be like,

lots of little ones all around!

they loved casey, of course ~~and his phone~~

one of the days, lance, an uncle, organized for us all to go riding on some quads together!

we even brought all the kids to ride too!

because it was wonderful montana, we got to bring all the little ones on the quads with us.

even though, it was bitterly freezing near the end, it was absolutely splendid.

we were so happy we got to be in montana this year, and it was so worth the drive!
this definitely won't be the last thanksgiving we have with this family!

other random activites:
painting LOTS of nails,
cutting out snowflakes,
having the little ones catch bugs for my friends insect collection,
playing games,
watching football,
looking at ALL the themes christmas trees at malinda's house,
lots of laughter :)

and now i look back and see that our relationship is so much more now than it ever was then, we truly are one unit and i love every aspect of that. our love and commitment is deeper now than it ever has been and it will only grow form here.

i would not have wanted to spend these last 2 years any different.

we are in montana with family celebrate thanksgiving.

for my husband, and best friend, who is almost always with me, who makes me laugh all the time, and who cares about everything i do and feel.

for the gospel, it bring joy and purpose to my life knowing i'm a daughter of God and that Heavenly Father knows who i am and loves me.

for my education at BYU, where the spirit can guide myself and my professors, where we can talk freely of the truths of the gospel during educational study.

for nature, for winter and summer, fall and spring, for sunsets and sunrises, nights and days. the song for the beauty of the earth holds a special place in my heart.

to have my nieces and nephews, they make me so happy and i love them to bits!!!!

for nail polish, who a little bit of color on our fingers could bring so much joy?

for hot chocolate, because when you're frigidly cold, it warms up your whole body in an instant.

for phones and video chatting, when you're away from family, there's nothing better than those 2.

so we had the lucky opportunity to go to california this last weekend.

i'm, surprisingly, get used to long car rides and not hating them so much.

the trip consisted of 10 hours to LA, 3 hours up to Fresno, 3 hours up to Sacramento, and 10 hours back to Provo.

listening to books is the only way to travel, people.

this time we listened to Brissinger (almost done!), the E-Myth (done), and Freakanomics (done- this book is really good and so interesting).

so where were we at 11/11/11 11:11?

i've concluded that doing things by yourself is not fun, ha.

i felt like rachel, from friends, when she goes out to eat by herself and feels silly after doing it,

i hear ya girl.

we got to stop in Fresno for a few hours and visit some of my family!

casey, as usual, had all the little ones squealing in delight the whole time.

the Kellogg's are such a fun gang :)
darling aunt wendy sent us away with the most incredible homemade bread ever.
family is awesome.

we then headed back up to Sacramento!

goodness, remember that summer we spent up there?!

good at times, lonely at times, but still a great summer for us.

our favorite part: the Hunts.

casey met them through working up there and hit it off with them.

we love them so very much to say the least and were excited to spend part of a weekend with them!

such a kind family who are a great example of love to us!

we went to tayson's socer game

we did anti-gravity yoga.
andrea is a freaking pro at it, she's such a good teacher,
working out in these hammocks is so incredible,
it stretches you more than you've ever stretched before,
you can get a full body workout by doing something that is usually only a leg workout,
thery're fun to be in,
and they're SO relaxing to just lay in.
if you EVER get the chance to try it do it.

and in celebration of mccade's 18th birthday, we had a feast of champions:

steak, crab, potatoes, and salad,

everyone was stuffed to the brim the rest of the night

(tummy aches from nearly everyone ensued as well due to us devouring way too much, goodness)

cute, little addy did not want to move from casey's lap.

you dare try to move her, you will get a mini tantrum that only casey could soothe.

it was precious.

it was a short trip to Cali for us, but still so fun nonetheless.
we'll sacrifice long drives to see family and friends any day.

my brother, kirky, is engaged!

we are absolutely thrilled for kirk and whitney!

whitney is the cutest little thing, and it will be so much fun to have her in the family.

casey and i got to be the paparazzi during the engagement too!

it was s special and it was beyond beautiful outside too.

they'll be married in march in the mesa temple!

yay for weddings!

november is RUNNING by us!

we are back in provo for a few days and will be out on our way again this weekend!

last week and this have been super wacked out schedules with trying to do homework and class assignments early,

missing school,

changing up work schedule,

driving way too much,

flag football games.

we are always thankful for the opportunity to travel during the semester,

let alone to family!

arizona welcomed us with her best fall weather: sunshine and 70's/80's.

oh how i was in love,

we brought a little of utah with us though.

fall arrived in the form of the box, a box full of beautiful leaves!!!

ha, the girls didn't know what to do at first with all those leaves,

but soon enough they were jumping in them and throwing them everywhere.

i'm going to miss fall the most when i leave utah.

one of the days we had mini wind/dust storm roll in.

with no kites to be found in the house, we concocted our own:

we call them bag kited.

trash bags, ribbons, and string.

as white trash (literally) as it looks, we had fun and were amazed those things took flight at all!

on saturday though,

we packed up the whole gang and drove to the dunes!

my favorite.

getting back out there riding just felt so wonderful.

i'm always a little apprehensive about riding again,
pretty much it's just the fear of wondering if i can still remember, ha!

and every time, it all comes back, just like riding a bike.

as i was riding, i thought, gosh, i've been riding by myself since i was 8.
i hope i always get to do this.
casey sported his new motorcycle gear, looking as hot as he possibly could.
he also rode the motorcycle in the dunes for awhile this time around too!
note: motorcycles are my favorite, but if you're not used to it, it's pretty difficult in the dunes.
he was a rockstar.
each time he fell he got straight back up and kept going.
i loved watching him, but was amazed at how much i worried!
it gave me a glimpse into parenthood!!!
i knew that i knew how to do it but he needed to learn how to do it himself,
even if he did fall on easy and hard parts,
but each time he fell,
he understood why he fell and tried not to do that again.
oh parenthood, let's wait a while, shall we?

the little girls came with us too and they were so much fun to have around!
we built lots of sand castles,
hiked to the top of the smaller dune in front of the camp,
and best part:
when you'd come back from a longer ride, they'd run up to you and give you hugs and tell you they were so glad you were back!
so much love from such little people :)

we loved every part of it while there :)

so, fall has been beautiful,

what's new right?
we're trying not to take fall for granted because, sadly, this could potentially be our last beautiful fall!
all the time when we're walking/driving around we'll say to each other "look how beautiful the leaves are!"
everyday i walk around campus and provo i fall in love with nature.

we also had the prophet come speak at devotional this week,
it was wonderful.
it was a full house and experience i will never forget.
thousands of 20 something year students, gathered, excited, and eager, to take an hour out of their school day to come listen to one old man.
but he's not ordinary old man, he's one of the most beloved old men i know, millions love him.
he's the prophet of our church, President Thomas S. Monson.
an organ started playing, and the conductor raised his arms,
at once, all the thousands of these students that gathered began singing Press Forward Saints.
it was beautiful.
i will never forget those moments of sitting there in the Marriot Center at BYU.

additions of our week:
1) we waited a little too long to do laundry over the past weeks,
so the dryers wouldn't dry it all, mmeh.
actually, it probably would have for $20. i can't wait for my own washer and dryer!!!!!!!
so we hung it all over our house.
so savage.
oh how these days we'll remember...
2) i made boring shoes not so boring, snaps for kimber.

we had the lovely tayliann cutler and her dear, dear friend come join us saturday for halloween!

we carved pumpkins, visited the grandparents, played mario brothers, and went to cornbelly's.

carving pumpkins is just plain fun.

it's like the one "artsy" activity that everyone always does together.

casey's eyes were too far apart and mine were too close, jeeze.

lastly, we made it to cornbelly's for the night.
our activities consisted of going through 5 different haunted little mazes.
some were pretty darn jumpy, but we had loads of fun!
we also just walked around the place and admired the fun festivities going on everywhere.
this marks off another bucket list item too!
FYI- when weird/scary looking people chase you with things that sound like chainsaws, it really gets your heart a pumin'

casey and i registered for our last semester of classes at BYU a few days ago!

actually casey signed up for both our classes bc i wanted to go to bed early, ha.

you'd think being seniors we'd get all the classes we want, no problem?

WRONG.

our lives will go on but still, we wanted those classes at those times!

some tricks we have thrown in the bag for this semester:

i'm currently registered for a sewing class,

i hear it's pretty intense (8 hours a week!!) but hopefully it'll be fun.

i'm also trying to get into the flexibility class bc i hear it's pretty good (that was the one that was full for me, insert mean word about someone else here)

casey, on the other hand doesn't have such fun ones.

20 credits of legit, hard classes, crazy guy!!!

but he does have an extra credit to "spend" so we're trying to find a fun class for him!

we hear there's a wood working class offered somewhere on campus?

if you happen to know what the class is, sharing would be greatly appreciated!

other than that we pretty normal over here.

if you know my husband at all,

you'd know that football means a lot to him.

as you've noticed we go to all the BYU fooball games and love it.

he loves playing football,

talking football,

watching football,

reminiscing about football,

fantasy(ing) football,

everything football.

it's fun to hear him talk about his days back in football.

the team, the games, the championship, the experience, etc.

he genuinely loved it.

as we were listening to the radio in the other day, kenny chesney's new song "the boys of fall" came on.

i could tell how much he truly missed those days.

bright lights, friday nights, and all.

we looked back at the words and they just fit so perfectly with casey:

we have officially crossed of another item off our bucket list.

this last weekend we went camping up diamond fork canyon near spanish fork,

and had a grand ol' time together.

we dusted off our sleeping bag and tent,

borrowed many an items from family, neighbors, and landlord,

and went on our way!

hot dogs for dinner and breakfast,
casey brought his finest whitetrashwyomingcowboy skills with us

after cuddling all night to stay warm,
we woke up to frost all over everything, and the rushing stream as our background noise.

we built one more fire for morning (for our hot dogs, jeeze)
warmed ourselves back up and packed up "camp."

dear camping,

you were more fun than i expected.

i'd love to go again.

stories not to be forgotten:

-weston telling us at the last minute that "tomorrow" was the first day of hunting season for locals. DON'T SHOOT ME!

so i mentioned that last thursday was scott's birthday.

the 3 of us families/siblings met up at 5 guys burgers to celebrate!

and boy, do we love those burger and FRIES.

oh, those fries are heavenly.

i only took pictures of the little kids because they're so cute.

i love my neices and nephews, love them.

yesterday was the mr. scott woodruff's birthday!

it was one of the few/only birthdays i actually got to celebrate with my brother this year!

so scotty, here is my tribute to you:
you're the middle child, and although you say that means you were the middle/hated/forgotten child,
it's the exact opposite.
you got the best of both worlds: you got to be with the "cool" older borthers,
and then you also got to have plenty of time with us younger ones, kirk and i

remember that 1 time you broke your leg when you were 2?
well i don't, but i know you certainly do.
you had some pretty dang cute pictures in your years.

remember how it's because of you our family has the pets we do.
zuka and tazz undoubtedly stem from you,
as well as a few of our family kitties.
for that i salute, and thank you :)

remember when you used to always sing "don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?"
literally you sang that all the time, and truly believed it too.
thank you for showing me what true confidence in one's self looks like

i have 3 SILs on my woodruff side.

and guess what? all 3 are pregnant!

they're all due March, April, and May!

yay for babies! 2012 will be so much fun!!

maybe in a few months i will.
me being pregnant is not one of those secrets, so stop pointing fingers people :)

lately it's been warm here in provo, WHAT!? yeah, i know, it's been fabulous.

it was so warm in fact that after coking our meal on sunday we couldn't bare to be in our place bc it was so hottttttttt!

so we ate in the front yard aka the lawn we share with the other tenants that a million people walk past on sunday, i swear.

only slightly awkward,

whatevs.

but the weather was wonderful so i'll stop my complaining.

best part: just lying on the blanket/grass after eating in the sun and light breeze without a care in the world for that 15 minutes.

lately, casey as been working on his puzzle a ton

and he finished it!

that's two hips and a hooray people,

i get my table back!
the puzzle had 1000 peices, but 2200 little pictures to put together, jeeze.

lately, i made copycat texas roadhouse rolls.

we liked them.

lately, we had a campfire/cookout up the canyon with the landscape management major.

it was quite enjoyable.

i love my major still. especially the people in it.

lately, we've had a few great sunsets.

lately, i made sun dried tomatoes in the oven.

we didn't like them much.

moon lift ride.

this last week we drove up to sundance to go on their moon lift ride.

twas fun as usual.

out of our 4 years, here at BYU this was our third time going.

this moon lift ride was actually mine and casey's 2nd date together, crazy enough!

so there's a special place for it in our heart, ha.

this year we met up with my dear friend, brooke, and her dear, dear friend, chrisitian.

it's always fun to get together with other couples and we truly had a wonderful time.

they had us laughing the whole time.

it was cold as usual,

but we were kind of prepared this time luckily.

we laughed about the silliest of things.

we talked about how this was our last year here in provo.

we talked about numerous stories of us dating,

and funny moments we had dating.

provo utah bucket list: feeding the ducks at the duck pond

#1 reason i love tuesday and wednesdays: we don't work.

those 2 nights are pretty much the only nights casey and i don't work and don't have plans.

those days feel marvelous.

so today we kinda just chilled.

worked on the puzzle.

organized our little place.

made chocolate chip waffles.

and randomly decided to take a walk because the weather was just splendid.

on our way out i thought "let's go feed the ducks while we're at it!"

new found pleasure: feeding the ducks at the duck pond.

i was pleasantly surprised at how fun it was.

it was like being a kid all over again and being thrilled that all these ducks would come so close to you!

the challenge: trying to get the bread to the duck you want it to go to

the comedy: casey chasing away the mean ducks (i'm chuckling right now just thinking about it).

he'd just chase the mean one around the walking area til it flew back into the pond, calling it names.

too funny.

i was amazed at how close the ducks got to us! we could feed them straight from our hand!

(i didn't because, eww, that's gross).

but they were no stranger to strangers for sure.

we will undoubtedly be going back again soon bc we had such a hoot doing it!

ps- top left picture, on our walk to the pond, this HUGE duck was randomly on the street and started chasing us!
(imagaine a duck like the duck joey and chandler have on friends)
it was literally about to bite casey!
i don't know if it was someone's pet or what but it was blocks away from the pond.
it freaked me out and bc i freaked out while casey was on the phone he freaked out,
needless to say, we took a different street home.

provo utah bucket list: stewart falls/canyon drive in the fall

so our original plan was to drive up the canyon,
back in all the pretty leaves,
and drive home.
but on our way back down we suddenly thought, why not hike stewart falls right now since it is on our bucket list?
and, oh, what joys we did have!

luckily we went last tuesday, the day before it turned rigid, cold, rainy/snowy here in provo.

the drive was utterly gorgeous.
we saw the mountain sides were alive with colors bursting out in flames.
the smell was incredible, it made me want to go camping right that minute and live out in the wilderness all autumn long.
i honestly couldn't take big enough breaths in. it was so wonderful.
we listened to our beloved country music the whole way driving (did i tell you i converted casey to country music? for all you country haters, it makes us happy and we love it it so don't judge.)
and of course the company was wonderful, i don't remember what we talked about but i remember being happy.

we turned up the canyon and enjoyed every mile.
casey was driving slow,
my head was stuck out the window like a dog taking in the smells and sights.
we'd go back and forth saying "oh look over, there, that's so pretty!"
we saw a huge moose cross the road when we got up to aspen grove.
it looked so majestic with the fall leaves on all sides of it.

after driving through all the aspens after aspen grove,
we turned around and that's when we decided to hike stewart falls!
to say it was pretty is the most boring word i could use.
i'm not much of a writer so i won't try to convey what it was like except that it was so glorious.
seriously.
all the leaves around us were changing colors.
little chipmunks squeaked and crawled up all the trees around us.
leaves littered the trail and looked like millions of little girls had gone before us and dropped their flower baskets.

we ran (on the flats and downhills) to make the hike faster.
it felt like we were in a movie, being chased, jumping over stumps, roots, and boulders in the fall time
it was so cool.

the falls were exquisite too with bright reds, oranges, and yellows trailing on all sides.
the air was perfectly crisp with a slight chill.
and we were out there all alone in God's beautiful creation.
we passed maybe 8 other people.
it was like our own, personal, intimate experience with nature,
one i will never forget.

if you live in provo you need to take your canyon drive asap before it's all gone!

ps- the picture above the bottom left picture, is the road we went and took our engagements in,
it was just as beautiful as we remember!!
it's this secret little road up the canyon, you pass a kinda bigger open horse field on your left and it's behind there.
my ultimate dream would be to have a quaint little cabin on the itty bitty road!

after conference

after conference was over,

all us siblings got together for sunday evening.

it was quite fun, indeed, with 4 of siblings together.

it just is so fun to be with family.

we played in the park.

played on the swings.

played on the slides.

played kickball.

played games.

and played with the 2 cute little kids we've got running around here in utah.

this last picture has some of the games we played together (phase 10, cover your aces, taboo, etc)
plus 2 radom ones from my phone: i bowled a 150 this week with a turkey in there, go kimber!
and secondly, our football team. we've won 3 of 3, it's quite enjoyable.

conference weekend.

wow, it's thursday.

mwf went so fast for me, they always do.

my thursday and fridays are so easy, i just look forward to getting over my wednesday!

general conference was wonderful this year, as always.

we woke up at 9:56 to prepare ourselves for the 10 am session, we're awesome.

casey and i snuggled on the couch while we watched.

and then i fell asleep between sessions.

sadly, i can't remember one particular talk from those sessions, i just remember feeling good and happy the whole time.

every once and awhile, i say to casey "this is such a good talk!"

i'll be happy to see november's conference issue of the talks come out.

but for conference,

my brother, kirk, and his most dear, dear friend, whitney, came up from mesa!

i got to pick them up from the airport late saturday night

~~i was late picking them up and took the wrong way home.~~

we shared some great memories on that drive home.

the 4 of us got to go to the (very early) sunday morning session of conference.

sadly, we only had 3 tickets to that session.

so casey and i stood on the corner as he held up his finger begging for a ticket.

most embarrassing and funniest thing ever.

oh my word, i was dying of laughter and wanted to give up asap.

our attitudes weren't making it any better either, ha.

an old man in an electric wheel chair came up to us and said he was meeting his grand daughter on the other side of the conference center and that she might have an extra ticket.

(our countenance may have brightened up a little bit).

but his elderly wife (with a walker) needed help getting there.

so for about 5 minutes we helped this cute, old couple get to the other side of the building.

once up there, we began waiting around for his granddaughter.

not sure if she was really going to have a ticket or not, casey began holding up that very embarrassing finger, notifying to all others we were begging for 1 more ticket.

within 30 seconds, a couple tapped casey on the shoulder, and handed him a ticket.

ah, the sweet joy of relief (of embarrassment!).
what a tender mercy from the Lord.

after another little embarrassing scene with getting through security,

we made it inside.

casey finally looked at the ticket and realized the ticket we received was for the very bottom level!

yes people, the bottom level closest to the apostles etc.

umm, so cool.

way worth the embarrassment of holding up that one little finger.

my favorite part of the session was hearing the mormon tabernacle choir sing "I Believe in Christ."

it's my absolute most favorite hymn and it brought to me a reconfirmation of my testimony of this gospel.

we met kirk and whitney outside where we walked around temple square a little.

it was a gorgeous day outside and the very first conference session i had ever been to where the weather wasn't cold!

so glad we got to go with these 2.

the landscape management major rocks.

proof:

last week for our plants diagnostics class (aka memorize weeds, insects, diseases...oh wait i'm so ahead of that game!) we drove an hour away to the church farms in delta, ut to do some disease research on their corn crops. our caravan consisted of four 12 passenger vans. i was the front van with our professor. after we began the 10 minute off-roading excursion to the crop, one of the vans got stuck in a big old patch of mud. so everyone, including our professor, got out and started pushing that thing out, ha. took us like 15 minutes to get it out, but it sure brought some laughter. but really, all our professors are so awesome, down to earth, great people, who really have a passion for what they're teaching and love the students. i know this may seem odd, but i truly have a testimony of byu. no where else, can you begin class with a prayer, have your professor relate academic studies to gospel principles during a lecture, or have your professor openly talk about his mission to the whole class. i love byu.

secondly, i'm in the landscape management presidency and it rocks.
the people rock.
we have a blast together.
one of our presidency members is missing here, but oh well :)
if you're in slight contemplation of choosing a major, look at ours, it's the best.
plus, our professors are superb at networking for us and everyone graduates with a job who wants one.
the people are all just so great in the industry.

lastly, the LM students have the ~~wonderful~~ priviledge to clean one section of the football stadium after football games.

everyone works so hard and we laugh and have a ball together.
plus, there's always great food afterward.
it's just dandy.

last night, as lay in bed, i admitted to casey that i had't brushed my teeth.

you know what he did?

got my tooth brush, put toothpaste on it, brought it to me while i lazily remained in bed, forced it in my mouth, and turned the power on so it started splattering all over my face.

tonight, i force fed casey sweet potatoes and broccoli (that were quite yummy, might i add) while we sat and watched our favorite show.

i literally had a fork up to his mouth with a sweet potato on it,

and each time he would give his best 4 year old idontwantoeatthisfood face.

he would also say in his best pouty voice "no, i don't like vegetables..."

but alas, the sweet potatoes and broccoli were gone.

i would love to share our family favorite recipe of texas caviar with you!
(i'm also inclined to do this bc often when i'm away from home and i want to make this, i don't have the recipe, but now it'll be on the blog where i can always get to it!)

i got this from my mom,
who got it from our neighbor,
who probably got it from someone above her too!
it's a woodruff family favorite.
it's eaten/made at nearly all of our family functions:
christmas, reunions, the dunes, weddings, etc.
you name it, it's most likely been there.
if the family is together, someone wants it to be made.

it's a bean/salsa/mix of veggie dip thing that's super yummy!

Chop thefollowing and mix together:

2 cloves garlic

2 cups tomatoes (about 5)

1 green pepper

5-6 green onions (1bundle)

2 jalapenos

Add:

1 can white shoepeg corn(drained)

1 can mexicorn (drained)

2 cans blackeyed peaswith jalapenos(rinsed and drained)
these cans are hard to find, if you can't find them, get 1 can black eyes peas and another bean can, black or kidney

Add:

8 oz. zesty Italian saladdressing

Cilantro to taste.

1 packet of powderedItalian dressing

I think it tastes better the 2^ndday, and it will juice up a bit itself when sitting after awhile, so don't add too much of the Italian dressing, I usually use half the bottle and add however much powdered Italian dressing i think it needs

you know what's awesome about going to BYU?

there's free food somewhere nearly always.

you just have to make and effort to stand in the really long lines for it.

well we finally did, ha.

the business school had their "opening social" (and bc i'm a business minor i was technically invited:)

we went.

we ate. (insert how much we heart j-dawgs, snow cones, and cotton candy here).

we conquered.

my advice to anyone at BYU or wanting to go to BYU:
make the effort to participate in the free things on campus bc it won't last for long.

a guide to bahama bucks

if you've read this blog long enough,

you'd know that casey/we (casey is the fuel to the fire) have an obsession with bahama bucks.

we think it's just fantastic.

so here's our little guide to bahama bucks!

(they're only in AZ, NM, and TX, sorry UT fans).

go with a coupon.

they always have coupons floating around for that place.

they usually come in the regular mail, keep your eyes open

(and tell your relatives/friends who live in the area to save them for you so you have multiple ones!)

our favorite one is buy one get one free :)

once you get there, get samples, lots of samples

(and if you have small children with you all they want is a sample, it's great!)

casey and i always get the same flavors,

we're creatures of habit (and we like "our" flavors the most!)

casey: half cream soda, half cotton candy.

kimber: half watermelon, half blue raspberry.

and you've GOTTA put the cream on top, it's like the best part.

we personally don't do a bahamaramamamas (ice cream at the bottom) bc we're still pinching the pennies.

also, don't forget your punch card!

we love our punch card and guard them with our life.

after you get 10, you get a free one, woohoo!

and the free one gets to be whatever size you want.

get the avalanche people. GET THE AVALANCHE. it's huge!

and with the punch card, if you go in the winter when it's cold,

you get multiple punches when the temperature is below a certain degree!

(i think 2 below 60, 3 below 50, ad 4 below 40 maybe?)

it's great.

and lastly, if you go on saturdays (their busy days, sadly, when you'll have to wait in lines),

they give out magic spoons instead of umbrellas!

they change colors whey they're cold and it makes eating your snow cone all the better.

(as a kid, we'd save them and eat them with our cereal:).
magic spoons are definitely worth the wait :)

water parks = happiness.

when you're with a fun husband and cute nephew it gets even better!
we went to seven peaks and it was great!

so there's #1 checked off our list.
casey had never been.
i'd only gone once when i was 16,
but they have a bunch of new rides that are really good at giving you terrible WEDGIES!
ya, worst wedgies of my life!
but going down some of those slides really gives you a thrill!

glad we got to go for a quick 4 hour day.
this is definitely an activity all need to do before they leave the provo!

ps- next camera investment: water proof camera case for my point and shoot.
that baby would undoubtedly give me some happy photos.

bucketlist check off: bridal veil falls

the saturday before school began we were sitting around doing nothing.

so out of desperateness to not be lazy,

we got our booties off the couch and drove up the canyon to bridal veil falls!

(everyone, bridal veil falls is the pretty waterfall that you see on the right when you drive up provo canyon).

we thought it was going to be more of a hike than it was but it was still pretty and we can still say that we did it!

yay for a cool refreshing mist at the top!

after our "hike" we decided it'd be wise to feed ouselves
at red robin with a gift card :)

since school began

1. what i bought at the grocery store late saturday night: marshmallow matey's (we've got to survive people!), milk, peanut butter, jelly, wheat thins, bananas, and carrots. that is correct people, we've been living off of cereal and pb and j's this week. we rock.

2. we're in a bowling class together together (we love it). going through the class role the 1st day the teacher calls
"casey cutler?"
"here."
"kimber cutler."
"here."
"...are you two brother and sister?"
"husband and wife..."
ya, we rock.

3. remember how much we love our apartment and practically sold our souls to get back in it for this semester? we forgot how horrible that place is in the summer and late august/early sept = summer! that dang atti turns into an oven!! ha, but we're surviving with 3 fans placed in all the windows and a swamp cooler that turns our bedroom into a little ice box! we can't wait for fall/winter!

4. more on our humble attic: i think a bomb went off. with school and work, there has been no time to unpack and organize. we actually ate our cereal the first 2 days with the same spoon and large fruit bowl bc that's all we could find! if we do need to find something (usually in the wee hours of the morning when we're late to school), we tear through boxes like it's christmas morning and leave quite the noticeable trail...

5. we love our jobs. we most definitely missed our jobs. worst part of our job: seeing people you know but can't remember their name! it's so embarrassing and i'm horrible at it!!! and trust me, i see tons of people. if they don't remember my name, i've got a badge on so they don't have to feel stupid like me. but seriously, give me a break people!!! (espeacially you people i' haven't seen in 2 years!). all that matters is that i remembered them and my (fun) experiences with them, right?

6. do you remember years ago when i showed a picture of our new bed and it was on the ground? well guess what?! our bed isn't on the ground anymore! we don't have to live like savages!!! yay for our landlord buying a bed frame, and most importantly, a queeen box spring that splits apart so it fit up the attic stairs!!!

7. fact: for the first time ever i dropped a class bc the book was too expensive and i decided there was too much work in there that i sincerely did not want to do. heh heh.

8. today i was 10 minutes late to class bc i thought i was going to ride my bike to school and when i got on my bike both tires were flat. boooooo.

9. in the 1 hour's time we did have to unpack, we stopped and looked at our photo album from last year for 20 10 minutes. i am so excited for fall!!!!!!

10. this morning when i left for school, i woke casey up for a kiss, a prayer, another kiss and a goodbye like usual. but today after he said goodbye, 45 seconds later while i'm rustling around in the room he started mumbling goodbye again in his sleep. another reason how he keeps me smiling and happy when he doesn't even try to. thanks dearest husband of mine.

ps- why do i have time to write this when my house is a disaster and homework isn't done? waiting between classes thank you very much

hey remember when we took that forever death drive across the country the other week that took a whole day of lives away?

remember how we stopped in iowa?

we did, for a day actually!

and visited casey's siter and her family.

scratching my 18 (yes, i literally counted) bug bites on my legs from the previous day
visiting the chiropractic school where his BIL currently studies

aka i put my shoes in his shoes and rolled his ties into my shoes.

and while husband was busy tetrising it all into the car,

jaden was on the sidewalk pulling out all the shoes and putting them on his feet!

what a big help.

5 hours to iowa and then another 23 hours to AZ with NO STOPPING!
except for a) potty breaks b) gas c) treats d) all the above
i don't know how we did it.
starbursts helped much (thanks kerri!)
and so did a little penny surfing.
kansas did not help.
kansas was as boring as a white sheet of paper, and it took FOREVER!

see the dumb cowboy hat behind me?
yeah that fell forward and hit our heads about 51038320 times.
and to make it worse, we didn't even go to a rodeo this summer so i didn't wear it!
how LAMO is that?!
the drive took forever.
luckily i have nearly perfected my sleepinreallyuncomfortablepositions skills and slept for at least 11 hours of the drive.
i'm a rockstar like that.
once we saw the AZ cacti though, i was a happy camper.

ps- see the bottom right pic of the blue mirror?
can you guess why our mirror was blue with a hint of red?
yes, we indeed had not 1 but 2 visits by the friendly policeman on our journey.
i was stopped first in whocares, kansas.
results: warning for a broken brake light, WAY TO DANG GO KIMBER!
casey was then stopped aobut 2 hours later in whocares, oklahoma.
results: warning for a broken brake light and going to 46 in a 40.
YAY FOR WARNINGS AND NO TICKETS!
this is our first official summer with no tickets
knock on wood, we still have 10 hours left to provo! yikes!

farewell summer.
on our last saturday here one of our friends here had a pool party!
like mentioned before i love the pool so this was not an event to be missed!
most all our friends we've made this summer were there which made it that much better.

one of the cute girls, brittany goff, has her parents who live about 40 minutes away in a great place out in the "country" part of indiana.
beautiful weather, home, pool, great food, pure greatness.

by far our favorite part of indiana have been the people.
we adore all the people we have met and feel so lucky to have met them!

it's been bliss.

i'm sitting in the phoenix airport right now waiting for my flight for the 2nd time in 2 days.

i came to az for a quick 4 day trip for my dear friend, nicole's, wedding.

it was splendid!

i just love weddings.

especially weddings that are about my really close friends whom i love and not just who i know.

it seriously rocked.
side note: stewart and nicole have known each other since at least 9th grade if not before.
little crushes have always been here and there.
and now they're married! we so excited!
they're precious

3 weddings down, 1 to go! cough cough.

the ceremony was beautiful.

nicole was beautiful.

and the day was so smooth and perfect (except for the whole, it's blistering hot part).

but really, it was an absolute blast to be apart of!

dear nikkipoopoo, thanks for letting me join your wedding festivities. it was wonderful, and i'm so so happy for you!

lastly, see how the 1st line reads how i'm here in the airport for my 2nd flight in 2 days?
i came to the airport on saturday evening for my flight out.
but as we were waiting to board the plane they announced they were overbooked and needed 1 person to give up their seat.
so the kind soul that i am decided to volunteer...
(no, the paid airfare and $300 voucher did not affect my decision at all! cough cough)
so i'm sitting here in the airport way too early on sunday morning waiting for my flight.
the $450 "gift card" to fly anywhere on southwest is easing the pain of not seeing my husband :)

one thing i learned quickly here in indiana:

pool options are limited.

ha, that worried this arizona girl!

but after a few months of being here we became friends with one cute family!

4 awesome kids with 2 parents we utterly adore.
they also have a pool in their community which is an added bonus to our friendship.

we've gone to the pool with them a couple of times and once took the kids to the pool ourselves!

i've also gotten to go to the pool with my SIL and some other friends too which make it even more enjoyable :)

we love this family!
but sadly they're moving to north carolina in august!
(luckily we're moving away too, ha, but we'll see each other again!)

the oldest girl is awesome and taught casey how to ride a ribstick.
the 2nd girl is a ham and adorable.
the little boy is in our sunbeam class and the funniest things ever.
and the baby girl is the cutest ever (she's actually not the biggest fan of me sadly enough but casey is the baby whisperer and she loves him).
we love the mom and dad, thery're the funniest and funnest people ever, i swear.
casey and i kinda want to be them when we grow up.
